a handful of people already know
If this turns out to be everyday hood rat stuff and not some serial killer type, every single young person in "the community" knows. If police really want to solve it, they need to start bonding with teachers at the middle and high school levels. Those kids know every single thing that happens in their area and they talk about it at school.
If it is, in fact, a teenager, they still went home to someone. It is very unlikely they live alone.
Plus, money is an enormous motivator. Get a big enough payout on Crimestoppers, and you're guaranteed someone will talk.

I’m also open to collecting funds for billboards across Baton Rouge calling out the media for not calling out the city leadership over the unacceptable level of crime. This pisses me off beyond most other things in recent memory. There has to be something the public can do.
I’m ready
I think we need to keep this topic on the top of the OT until the family gets over the initial shock and grieving. If it’s true people in their family are in law enforcement I think they will be highly motivated to organize something. First we need to solve the crime though and if there are no good leads it’s going to take money to get people talking.

Staring shut down between Highland and Burbank right now. Taped off like a crime scene but not sure.

Shots started at 13 seconds then stopped and started up much more again at 34 seconds. I wonder if they shot first to get her attention then she started turning around to get away and they shot again. Or maybe she was shot initially then started trying to escape and they realized she wasn’t dead so they finished her off. There’s the sound of a crash at the end, which must be her vehicle coming to a stop after so that makes me believe she was shot while driving away. That audio is awful. Poor girl must’ve been terrified.

How long till the mayor wants LSU to implement a curfew?

The family has already asked for the audio to be removed from Facebook which they apparently did, but they won’t take it off the website. The mom is furious that they released the audio and won’t dare give any other info they are suppressing. They know more than they are reporting.

I’m glad the national media is picking it up. Hopefully they do what the local media refuses to do, and that’s ask the tough questions about Baton Rouge crime. We need Tucker to get this and dig into Baton Rouge really desperately right now.

Honestly, that’s comforting. It can only mean that they k ow more than we do, which is a good thing.

What website?
When you say they…are you referring to the family? Police? Both?

Seriously? I knew it! Are they going to try and bury this? It makes them all look bad.
Maybe they won’t have a choice but to address if it gets enough attention. Looks like that is what’s happening.
