O got 17.5 million for the life of his contract. Jimbo makes more than that in 2 years and is guaranteed through 2034
The contract O signed after winning the natty was virtually identical to Jimbo's salary.

Now we pay him $3 million a year to stay away. That's how bad he was.

"LSU athletic director Scott Woodward signed Orgeron to a six-year, $42 million extension in January 2020. The contract included a $6 million base salary and a $5 million life insurance policy split over the first two years of the deal. Woodward, who did not hire Orgeron, was named LSU's athletic director in April 2019.Oct 17, 2021"

"No. 6 Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher have agreed on a new contract extension that will keep the national championship-winning coach in College Station through the 2031 season. The new, more lucrative deal will pay Fisher nearly $95 million over the next 10 years -- about 25% more than he was making. He'll start by earning $9 million during the 2022 calendar year, then $9.15 million in 2023. Beyond that, he'll earn $100,000 raises every year for the life of the contract -- which is fully guaranteed, according to The Athletic's Sam Khan.

The deal pushes Fisher past LSU coach Ed Orgeron to the second-highest paid coach in college football. Only Nick Saban earns more.

"The investment Texas A&M University is making in our program, coaching staff and facilities speaks to the vision of our leadership and their commitment to long-term success," Fisher said in a statement. "It is an honor to be the head football coach at Texas A&M and although I am proud of the strides we've made, we ain't done yet!"

The new deal replaces the previous 10-year, $75 million contract that the school gave to Fisher upon hiring him in 2018. Now in his fourth year, Fisher is is 26-10 overall with a 17-8 record in the SEC, but that includes a 9-1 showing in 2020 that put the Aggies on the brink of a College Football Playoff berth. A&M finished fifth in the final CFP rankings, one spot behind Notre Dame, and defeated North Carolina in the Orange Bowl.

Modern day Les Miles. Gives you decent seasons with 3-4 losses, every few years he'll overachieve and lose 1-2 games, always plays down to competition, always loaded with elite talent with excellent recruiting classes, will come out of nowhere with big wins then shite the bed next week(like last year against Bama), stubborn on offensive philosophy that handicaps the entire offense, can't develop a QB, needs an elite defense to maintain momentum in games. Sounds a lot like Miles does he not?

Miles was several notches above Jimbo. He delivered us 1 natty and missed a second by a hair. And we had consistent 10 win seasons for the most part.

He's still very similar to Miles especially Miles on post 2011 which was downhill from that point forward.

Kirk Ferentz at Iowa comes to mind. He’s been there 23 years and just signed a 49 million dollar extension.
He’s won 2 big 10 titles and none in 19 years. Expectations are different but he’s averaged 5 million over the past 6 years and will earn 7 million per over the next 7. Tons of money to expect to go 7-5 every year.

But it's perfectly normal to be obsessed with a rival coach who hasn't worked here in almost two decades.

He wasn’t overpaid. He actually won a National Championship and fielded the best CFB team in history before getting paid big bucks.

Agreed, Curly Hallman is the absolute worst anywhere I know of! So dimbo fisher must be next in line. Thank u AD Woodward for saddling the A&M with a horrorable for the next 10 years!

He is 118-38 all time with a winning percentage of 756 and
8-2 in bowl games with 800 win%

Having said that he has underachieved at A&m.

Jimbo is like most coaches. He can win with a Heisman caliber QB. Only coaches I’ve seen win at a high level with average QB play are Saban, Miles and Kirby.

His win percentage was from when FSU was the top team in their conference. The Jimbo let most of the other teams in the conference pass FSU by Jimbo's last year at FSU they finished with just 6 wins.
