Ok, here goes.
I haven’t seen anything to indicate that Donald Trump seems to think he deserves an invite to the funeral…certainly no more than any other US President, past or present. And whether you like it or not, he WAS a US President. Sorry. Dems just da facts.
The only thing I’ve seen re: Donald Trump in this whole thing is the very nice, moving tribute he penned honoring Her Majesty, The Queen.
Should the guest list be the prerogative of Her Majesty’s family? Absolutely.
Per this thread, however, they have delegated that prerogative to the various heads of state.
If Joe Biden invites the Carters, Bushes, Obamas and Clintons…yet leaves out the Trumps? It is a VERY bad look for this country.

If Trump had beaten Biden and was still President, you would be pissed if the US delegation, led by Trump, decided not to allow Obama, Bush and Clinton to attend.

the new deal is that Biden and Jill were invited period. with other Americans possibly invited. according to Tapper's tweet yesterday.
it is down to just the President but the media is wording it and some Americans so they can say HA Trump wasn't invited.
