Thinking of visiting National WW2 Museum in New Orleans

Just read another link about 7 reported carjackings.
My question, is it safe?
Where do we stay to avoid trouble?
What should we avoid?
Thanks in advance for your help. Any other advice would be appreciated.

You can park in a big parking garage there if that makes you feel better.

You’ll get the full warzone experience before you even get to the museum

Parking garage right across the street.

The Museum is fantastic. Very nicely done and a good experience. But…not worth risking your life over. If dead set (pun intended) to visit, consider valet parking at one of the luxury hotels and taking an Uber there and back.

They’ll be a movie about the attempt to rescue the last surviving member of your party: “Saving Private Deplorable”.

Park in the garage. That area is actually the safest in the city. The warehouse district. No low income housing in the area. Mostly galleries, restaurants and museums and expensive apartments.

There is a garage on campus. You can drive in. Park, eat and even stay the night all without leaving museum property.
I get NOLA is bad but some of y'all are beyond pussified.

Park in the garage and eat at the restaurant. You will be fine.

Go to Philly or Chicago instead
The carjackings dwarf the amount in New Orleans

The Higgins Hotel (Hilton Property) is across the street from the WWII museum, and the décor is theme related. They have a parking garage attached to the hotel. The museum is across the street, and they have done a good job of moving the homeless and vagrants away from that area.
If you're staying for a weekend, you may think about doing the Pacific Theatre one day, and the European the next day. It's so much information my brain was mush after doing both theatres in the same day. Don't sleep on the 45 minute movie that tells the whole story in a 4D theatre with effects to the chairs and theater.

The second you cross into Orleans Parish, you will be greeted by a bullet. If you manage to dodge said bullet, two minutes later a young lad will attempt to carjack you while Latoya Cantrell watches and cheers. If you manage to avoid this too, you will arrive safely at the WW2 museum, but you will return to four busted windows and a busted windshield. While you’re inspecting your vehicle, you will be robbed at gunpoint. If you manage to escape, you will be named King for life. These are the rules. I don’t make them.

NOLA is a shite hole, but the museum is amazing. I've been 3 times before and would definitely go back again. I can spend the whole day in that place.

Speaking of WW2 museums, in Chicago there is a German U boat you can tour the inside of. Only 1 of 4 in the world you can tour. Only 6 were captured by the allies. A must see for any WW2 buff.
2 in Germany
1 in England
1 in USA
The Fort Benning, GA armor museum will be legit once that opens. A notable piece is a King Tiger. Only 8 left. Hopefully not too much longer. The museum was moved from Fort Knox.

LMAO, yes it's safe. Park at the museum. Enjoy the museum and the city it's in. The museum is huge now, and there's a lot of reading and interacting you can do. Plan for an entire day to see it all, or just see what you want and leave when you want.

What’s the opposite of Big Dick Energy? Is it Small Dick Energy? Or just a dearth of Big Dick Energy? Inverted Dick Energy?
Whatever it is, OP exudes it.

My question, is it safe?
1. Park in a paid parking garage
2. Arrive and leave during the daytime
If you do 1 & 2, you should be ok.
