Use the garage as everyone says. That’s a street parking lot too but it’s ten dollars(a few years ago) and doesn’t give change. So make sure you go with 10s, 5s, and 1s so you don’t get boned.

I cannot believe how pussified people have come.

Yes, NOLA is dangerous right now but some of us manage to live there and not have a single problem.

These kind of threads are my favorite threads.

All the big badasses on the OT that would put a bullet in any baw that threatens them. Then someone asks about New Orleans and the reality that these pussies are scared of their own shadow sets in.

The WWII museum is incredible and in a good area. You’ll be fine.

Real world experience this past May. We stayed in the FQ and drove our rent car to the museum. I parked outside at the corner lot right next door. No problem at all. If you stop and watch/listen all of the exhibits it will take a day to see one theater. FWIW we walked around the FQ with no trouble. Even walked over to Canal and rode the streetcar that goes by Audubon park, forget the name of the line.

Great museum.
If you are that worried about safety you can stay at the hotel on the premises.

Stay across the street at the Higgins hotel. It is part of the museum.

Devote 1 entire day at minimum to seeing the museum. You really need two days to see the intricate details of each exhibit.

That area is relatively safe. You should not have any issues during the day. Late at night is your worry.

There’s a civil war museum nearby, but you’ll probably get added to a list somewhere if you go in there.

Staying at the Higgins Hotel is a great idea or park across the street at the garage or the lot if you are staying somewhere else. Also check out the Confederate Museum on Camp St. It's in a beautiful building over 130 years old. It is a great, inexpensive little gem that you won't regret visiting.

I went in the spring. Great museum. We stayed in a hotel downtown and walked to and from the museum. No issues and didn’t feel threatened at any point. Maybe we were just lucky.
