I don’t understand why we looked so bad

I’m not jumping ship, I’m just disappointed. Yes, the OL is worse than we thought, but Denbrock’s playcalling did us no favors.

We looked lost and undisciplined. I thought it would be a rough year, but if nothing else, we would be prepared, disciplined, and focused.

FSU is a middle of the pack ACC team. There’s no excuse for the way they controlled that game.

Obviously we’ll improve, but I don’t think anyone imagined we would’ve looked as bad as we did last night.

We don’t have Vandy, Mizzou, or South Carolina on the schedule. Which SEC games can we win this year?

It makes more sense we you truly understand Denbrock and Polian and their relationship with Kelly

Similar to UCLA last year, need a warm up game to get out the kinks. Chalk this up as a AD scheduling blunder. Wonder who that AD was when this game was scheduled

Maybe it's because it was our first game of the year?

This warm up game narrative is over blown.

We were 6-7 last season. Plenty of time to warm up lol.

UCLA beat us and we were poorly coached. Simple as that.

There isn’t one part of this team or program that has not had a ton of moving parts. Head coach, assistants, S&C, and every player position group.

Are we looking at another Doug Mallory/Bradley Dale Peveto situation?

If the middle of the field defense doesn't improve, Mississippi state is gonna have a field day against the defense. Mike Leach will be licking his chops on this game film.

If you coached football you would know the most improvement you see from a team is from game one to game two. Once you play a real opponent you know what works or doesn't and makes adjustments.

The more I’m looking at it the more I realize how well FSU played and how stupid the mistakes are that LSU made.

Jordan Travis is being highly underrated for his ability to keep plays alive and operate the offense. Denbrock and House both put up shitty game plans but the individual unit coaching seems to be overall pretty good. Losing Maason Smith is worse than taking a L in this game.

I have a theory...

- Boutte leaves 14 pts on the field
- Dellinger/Wire leave 4
- Kicker/ST left 4 on the field
- 45% on 3rd downs
- FSU was 65% on 3rd downs

As far as "looks" go, how we perceive things... here's probably the biggest:
- we had only 2 plays go more than 20 yds (1 early in Q1, one late in Q4) and neither were a TD.
- FSU had 4 go +20, 1 in each qtr., 2 of them for TDs.

I’m not sure FSU had a week 0 game scheduled when we contacted to play them this year.

Defense was the big disappointment for me.

I’m sure House will get them better, but the gaps/open receivers is concerning.

It wasn't announced until February 2021.
