This bullshite makes me laugh b/c it isn't new.
The Day the Music Died is regarded as some huge musical tragedy. But what's comical is everyone of those artists' hits were incredibly elementary and formulaic but catchy. And that's what mattered back then.
Oh and they were all under 3 minutes long.
Funny how we judge current artists.

I understand your point, but it would be difficult to analogize Prine or Kris to “”Aldean”. They may be different animals who ought not be analogized.
My premise is that “Aldean’s” lyrics and song structures are largely unthoughtful, derivative and written for immediate commercial impact.. You can’t listen to “Sam Stone”, “Angel from Montgomery” or “Me &my Bobby McGee” and say those are commercially crafted schlock like that issued from the likes of “Aldean”.

Fun fact, Maren Morris could not make it in pop, she had failed auditions for Idol and The Voice. Her people thought country was easier to break into and sent her in that path. She's about as non country as you can get.
