They should take that statute of him that’s been in front of the State Capitol and throw it in the Mississippi.

That’s where the cocksucker is buried. So he can gaze up at the giant cock of a state capital building for all eternity.

I imagine the conversation below going like this…
HPL: “Tigers win today, or I’ll bankrupt your brothers farm”
HPL: “where’s the party tonight gals? Fred’s or Bogies?”

Wouldn't be opposed.
For those interested here's a symposium they did a decade or so ago on his assassination. I believe it's the one where Car Weiss Jr. declared his father didn't kill HPL.

link isn't working for me but I thought it was pretty widely assumed that Long was killed by the "friendly fire" of his bodyguard's weapons?

"The Democratic Party and the Republican Party were just like the old patent medicine drummer that used to come around our country. He had two bottles of medicine. He'd play a banjo and he'd sell two bottles of medicine.
One of those bottles of medicine was called High Popalorum and another one of those bottles of medicine was called Low Popahirum.
Finally somebody around there said is there any difference in these bottles of medicines? 'Oh,' he said, 'considerable. They're both good but they're different.'
He said, 'That High Popalorum is made from the bark off the tree that we take from the top down. And that Low Popahirum is made from the bark that we take from the root up.'
And the only difference that I have found between the Democratic leadership and the Republican leadership was that one of 'em was skinning from the ankle up and the other from the ear down — when I got to Congress."
- Huey P Long

Damn, can't get the link to work but it's on the LA Digital Media Library.
Everyone pretty much knows now that the bodyguards accidentally killed him, but there's still some controversy there. And Huey may have survived with better medical care.

Captivating in the sense he ruthlessly destroyed the state for his own personal gain. frick him. They should tear down his statue and replace it with one of the dude that shot him. That’s the real hero.

One big reason LA is dysfunctional, this man is the one who put in on that path.

You can criticize the Kingfish all you want but you have to give him credit for one thing , he brought LSU in to the big time.
With regard to athletics, academics, and even the band, he demanded the best and didn’t take any crap from people who tried to stand in his way.
