Discussed this on the panel yesterday with that Deep State Neocon Shill Short Gray Haired Woman, Karl Rove, Juan Williams, a guy from Axios, and some other woman.
Republicans just pulled funding and ad buying for Blake Masters in the AZ Senate race.
The Axios guy pointed out that it happened right after Trump publicly went after McConnell again. He doesn’t think it’s a coincidence. He implied that McConnell and the GOP would rather lose seats to Democrats than win them with Trump Republicans.

McConnell has essentially said this himself. It's party over principle with these people. They support Republicans, but only the right kind of Republicans.

Because Trump Republicans won't vote him in as Senate Majority leader. They also won't work with him. Mitch is screwing the base and America due to his vanity.
quote: Every day it becomes clearer and clearer where McConnell's loyalty lies and it isn't with the republican party.
Oh it's absolutely with the Republican Party. But it's not with the base voters of the Republican Party. He, along with the rest of the establishment GOP hates the base. It's as bizarre an arrangement as I've seen in my lifetime. He has to be loving all the FBI Trump stuff because I'm sure the GOP is fundraising like never before. It's win win for Mitch and the establishment. It's disgusting.
Dick Morris discussed this also the other day. He said he is willing to keep the Republicans a minority in the Senate because it insures that he will maintain the leadership. If the Trump endorsed republicans win and the Senate goes Republican, he will likely be out as leader.
McConnell must go and I hope that Republican Senators stand up against him with they are majority or minority
quote: Are people still thinking the GOP can be salvaged or have they finally realized establishment Republicans are indistinguishable from democrats??
If we have to, we shall take them one piece at a time.
quote: It's as bizarre an arrangement as I've seen in my lifetime.
The arrangement between the GOP establishment and the regular working man Republican voter is not new. You have just never noticed it. I began to notice it around around the Tea Party time and didn't understand it until Trump ran in 2016.
The issues are borders, trade and war.
The DC establishment makes their money on borders, trade and war.
What the DC establishment wants versus what the regular Republican voter wants on these issues are 180 degree out of phase with each other.
That's why the GOP establishment is fine with fighting on social issues and taxes. They really don't care about social issues they just use them to get the MAGA voter. On income and corporate taxes MAGA and the GOP establishment are petty much aligned.

This is the same arrangement the democrats have. Ever wonder why they can never seem to get laws passed that actually help their voting base? Because they'd rather have a pissed off voting base that is always at the polls.
Abortion is a great example. Regardless of your stance, they sat on a shakey court case as the legal foundation for one of their biggest issues.
Except it's not one of their biggest issues or they would've codified it at some point in the 50 years since Roe. They just want women pissed at Republican candidates forever. It's far more useful to them at election time.
