They don’t have amazing receivers and their O-Line is banged up

You can’t tell anything from that . The only thing is that there wasn’t a bunch of penalties so they seem to be locked in and well coached

Is their o line better at running blocking or pass protection when healthy?

Rbs no.8 and .9 are tough to tackle one on one. Especially in the backfield

Our DL should make it easy to shoot their run gaps. Just have to wrap those RBs up because they seem decent.

Honestly thought the physicality of the entire team was not good. They may have been playing down to the opponent , who knows. Running backs were definitely quick but a lot of the jukes they made were at line of scrimmage or backfield, so o-line was not very dominant. Pass protection looked ok but of course Duq. pass rushers weren’t half as fast as LSU is going to be.

Strengths: they have a good run game and running backs. Their OC is a former o line coach and the group seems to be well coached and structured. The oline is not particularly talented but cohesive and well coached. The QB is quick and has a good deep ball.
Weakness: the receivers aren’t good. The defense doesn’t seem good missing assignments, tackles, and gap assignments doesn’t hurt against that fcs team but it will against a good team.

Watched the game……..the opponent was so turrible there is nothing to take from it besides some of the basic plays that they run.

It looked like they were playing a high school team. No take aways from that.

Lots of missed/poor tackles too at the line. Combination of bad tackling and some RB moves, but it doesn’t bode well if our DLine is as good as advertised.

Duquesne doesn’t even offer scholarships for football, only need based aid. They are one of the better non-scholarship FCS teams but still that’s a big deal.

Very hard to form an opinion about them when they play a team like that but I’ll try.

Weaknesses: OL physicality, LBs getting lost, their DL should have been more dominant

Strength: Their QB can make plays, RBs are talented

Duqueness was constantly getting a push but that might be the worse tackling team I’ve ever seen. Their secondary might be decent but our receivers are truly in a different world than Duquenes

If our front 7 anything like we think they will be then we will dominate the game. They seem well coached, but they don't have the horses to maintain. Going to be a long night for them in the dome.

Well, one thing we both know for sure is if we can’t win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball it will be a long arse season

Probably the best metric to take away from a game against such an inferior opponent. I don’t think they believe they are going to run it down our throats. They can’t possibly think that. They will have more up their sleeve obviously. Having said that, I honestly think we maul their oline. I think we pull away in the second half. We will see.

This. I personally didn’t think anyone popped off the screen and I’m not going to be blown away by a running back committee with that oline. I think they can win some games playing disciplined penalty free ball (as someone else mentioned) but I don’t think they are very talented.
