I have a few, most are in terms of career paths, which you can’t really determine exactly how things would have turned out. But I had a chance to buy a bunch of close out product one time, it would have been a stretch financially without financing, so I didn’t do it. Once people found out it was discontinued; everyone that had been thinking about buying it suddenly wanted it and it appreciated in value. The cost to buy it was around $80k, which I didn’t really have. I could have financed it but I didn’t. And it cost me $50k: That is nothing for the OT ballers, but I kick myself over that. I mean, $50,000 is a decent amount of money to me on a one time deal.

Took an unplanned nap at 1:30 in the morning in my car, doing 70 Mph, after dropping off the girl I was dating.

Not hard to stay awake when you have someone talking your ear off. After that, the drone of a v8 lugging in 6th gear through a Borla exhaust on an empty highway will sing you to sleep.

Woke up in the back seat, bleeding on the brain, concussed, two broken thumbs when the airbag came out and pushed my hands off the wheel, and a few vertebrae looking for new territory. It hit the tree so hard it flung the targa top out of the car back onto the road. That is what alerted someone to the wreck. I hit the tree off the road. If not for that, I would have probably woke up in the car the next morning.

One of the weirdest things in the world is waking up after you have been knocked out for a while and seeing a cop with a flashlight there. You think you are home in bed and the SOB walked in waking you up.

Drinking with fiends sounds interesting . If you had only been drinking with friends that would be a mistake.

Going into business with a "friend" and not have a business agreement in place. He and his wife stole over $250k from the business and basically left me broke.

Not my biggest mistake, or even a mistake at all, but just a road not taken. My dad's college roommate had a daughter and we were both freshmen at LSU. My parents were after me to call her up, and I did a couple of times. We hit it off alright on the phone but we never got around to meeting in person. I sometimes wonder if she was the one I was supposed to be with all along. Probably not, but I think about her once in a while.

Pretty sure you inadvertently answered the question. East Coast Band’s biggest regret, whether he realizes it or not, is posting 57,000 times on this forum. How much damn wasted time is that? What could be accomplished in that time? That isn’t just an “I am sitting on the toilet” or “I am stuck in an airport” so I need to pass the time number of posts.

Drank too much bourbon while scouting a HS football team. Talked shite and got worked over in the stands instead of taking it to Sonic.

Two decisions that would have been life-changing financially:
1 - Had a lease w/option to buy a beautiful lake and surrounding property. Owner wanted ~$300k to purchase. I was considering it when my day-job company offered to relocate me to FL and a good career promotion. I let the lease/option expire. Less than two years later, a development company paid >$10M for the property.

2 - Very early in my career, I was working for one of the premier computer/IT companies in the world. A small start-up company offered me a job as one of the first 50 employees at the same salary I was already making but also offered company stock w/every check. I declined. That small company exploded, the stock increased and split exponentially for a few years - everyone that worked for that company could retire within 5 years just off the stock.

I’ve been thinking for an hour of what to post in this thread and I can’t think of anything. Guess that’s a good thing.
