The area has seen above normal rainfall for August, but not alarmingly so.

It's not so much "normal rainfall" levels -- it's the concentration in brief time periods of downpours that create the ab-normalcy and flooding havoc.

How "normal" has the Gulf Coast been with respect to Hurricanes?

I'm going to sit back and enjoy this one. I'm not going to argue with you. I will just watch.

But as one poster noted -- for 24+ hours straight?

It rains for 24 hours straight pretty often in the south especially in El Nino winters

Also we had a similar weather pattern in Sept of 2018 to what we have now

Geez
Never seen it like this before in August
At least a TS or hurricane come in goes in matter of a day or two

It’s been 7 plus days with no end in sight
Crops in Louisiana are pretty much ruined at this point.

FWIW, the Northeast farmers are also having a horrendous time with their crops. (Engineered) Drought is destroying / severely reducing farm output in many different areas of the USA.

IS there a correlation between the Climate Change Agenda AND attempting to artificially reinforce predictions and warnings?

ARE cynics being punished for doubting "Climate Change"?

It could rain for 24 hours straight -- but what about severity and weather front that remains stationary OR actually goes backwards? Many have noted this occuring repeatedly. NOT normal. NOR possible without "help".

Arguably part of the same irregular, engineered era of Climate manipulation creation (appears to have begun @2005)

There is a definite marked change in the usual weather patterns and especially severity.

"Argue"?

You've become quite the prissy missy, haven't you?

Do you have ANY thing to add to the conversation?

Btw, your schtick has gotten old.

Entertaining someone who doesn't believe in gravity serves no purpose. You're crazy, and that's okay. You're a great source of entertainment. Your schtick will never get old.

ETA: And I agree......it is the radars causing the weather. I've noticed over the years that the majority of weather occurs near a radar. That's no coincidence.

Isn't is normally rainy during the summer months along the Gulf Coast?

Yes, but those chances quickly diminish as you move farther inland. For instance, it can be common in the summers for BR or NO to get afternoon humidity showers (so much moisture accumulates in the air it creates its own, very brief but very active, storm cell which won't cover even half the city). In the northern part of the state though, you don't get those (or they are exceedingly rare).

So we can have little showers all over South La all summer while much (or all) of North La remains largely bone dry through the same timeframe.

Its rained everyday but 5 just like I said

Where? Show me a station that has recorded rainfall for all but 5 days since July 28.

So why say this if you don't think this rain is needed to get back to avg?

Are you stupid, or just ignorant? The point I was making is that it's been dry as hell across a good part of the state. The whole "its been raining forever, we're all going to drown" argument is nonsense.

Back on July 19, damn near the entire state was under some kind of drought classification, with a significant portion of the southern part of the state under at least a D1 classification.

Even as of August 16, most of the state was still classified as "Abnormally Dry".

Tell that to half the state that has beans and cotton rotting in the fields

shite, I'm surprised they weren't dying of thirst...now they are rotting?

LA Farm Bureau News just had an article yesterday about how the moisture has sparked a "revival" of cotton in Louisiana. LSU's cotton specialist said the harvest forecast was "solid".

That article was from 2 days ago.

Probably will be 2nd rainiest on record behind 2016 for many areas in South LA without there being some kind of tropical system

Looking at only the main observation site for the BR area:

Last year was wetter than this year to date, by a large margin. To date this year, that area is still 7.30" below Normal.

Across the same time period last year, the area was 22.24" above Normal for rainfall.

Every single month of 2022 has seen less rainfall than the same month of last year.

He can't, and I've already provided the data using all active ob sites in the BR area. I could do the other ob sites, but I don't want to.
