Friday. Another one for the poster who thinks all new music is crap.

Ryan Adams is my all time favorite artist. I haven't been super impressed with Big Colors, Wednesdays, or most of FM - but I'm going to give it another listen.
Cold Roses (with the Cardinals) is incredible and I don't care what anyone says, his cover of Taylor Swift's 1989 is legit.
Love is Hell
Heartbreaker
Easy Tiger
Cardinology
Gold
Demolition
Those are all in a league of their own imo.

Will have to check it out. Previously a top 5 artist for me but I got a little turned off finding out what a frickin creep he is

And weird as frick. Saw him in Nola some years back and his pre show warning about his phobias and triggers was the most pussified moment on stage I’ve ever seen.
That said, I like his music. Alot

I saw him twice in Mobile and he does a little more talking between songs than most artists - a little off the wall.
I got his Live After Deaf complete collection and it's some of the most bizarre dialogue

Ashes and Fire was the last really good album.
Jacksonville City Lights and Cold Roses are his best works.
FM is better than the rest of the releases this year.

Agree. FM had my head bobbing but like the albums beyond Jacksonville City Nights and Cold Roses I just don’t return to the album after one or two listens.

It's really good. I had been digging the first two songs released 'I Want You' and 'Fantasy File'
His self titled album doesn't get near the love I think it should. 'My Wrecking Ball', 'Gimme Something Good', and 'Trouble' are great

Loved Wednesdays and Big Colors. Thought Chris and Romeo and Julie were kind of bland one notey. Really like FM. Not a bad run.

Oops. That was either a typo or auto correct. I obviously meant Nights, not Lights.

Not a bad run.
I follow him on Instagram. He seems to be truly sober and in a good place mentally but mostly alone and by himself.
Does he play all of the instruments on his albums now? He doesn’t really mention the studio or other musicians (such as drummers).

His Instagram activity is odd. At one point either earlier this year or last year he had a meltdown about selling personal effects and being homeless etc. I think you’re right about the increased amount of content being to drive an income stream.

I’ve listened to FM a couple times and find it enjoyable but pretty predictable.

He banned me from following him on IG. I must have commented on something he didn’t like.

This is good and a step in the right direction for Ryan. His previous record was really boring.

I haven't listened, more so due to the last decade of average music...
I think Im prob done... he has always been a fricking a-hole, but there was a time when the tunes were so good... I hope he has really put it together this time..

Plus his work with Whiskeytown is top tier alt-country. Best song writer of this generation.
