They're a gold mine here, why would they leave?

They're not leaving the area. Only going across the river to paly in Gretna since the Gretna PD actually do their jobs. Games are going to be at the Mel Ott Center.

Ford, GM, Under Armour still call those cities home. NOLA is trying to run off its only Fortune 500 company.
Post Gayle its less than 50/50 the Saints remain a decade after the transition of ownership.

That was 3 years ago, and before the Broncos sold for almost $5B. Local ownership isn’t happening nor will the Saints sell for a home team discount. Austin, Orlando, OKC, Raleigh have so much more money and better futures it will be very difficult to avoid a relocation if we keep electing Teedys.

This.
It's delusional for one to firmly believe that the Saints will never move from New Orleans. It could happen, after Ms. Benson's time has passed.

NOLA is, per capita, the strongest TV market in the NBA and NFL. The team enjoys resounding support from the state and the fans. The NOLA market single handedly tanked the SB ratings after the NOLA NO CALL.
What business man would leave? The fricking league wouldn’t allow it.

Tom took the decision out of Gayle's hands before his death. He put Lauscha in charge of it. He'll do what needs to be done to keep the Saints in NOLA. The Saints will eventually be sold when Gayle passes. The stadium may be moved to another location but I'm confident the Saints will stay in NOLA.
This is from a 2021 article...
quote:
According to a succession plan created before her late husband Tom Benson’s death, when she dies, the city’s beloved professional football and basketball teams will need to be sold. And the expected billions of dollars in proceeds will be aimed at charities focused on New Orleans.
As long as Lauscha, 52, is still living, it will be his job to oversee the sale of the Saints and Pelicans, with a goal of ensuring the NFL and NBA teams remain in New Orleans. It will then fall to him to manage what philanthropy experts describe as a “transformational” endowment for the city.
As overseer of those twin tasks, Lauscha will become one of the most in[uential New Orleans business leaders in recent memory. But his evolution from a kid growing up on the west bank to a young adviser to Tom Benson and later executor of his estate has happened largely out of public view. With the announcement of the succession plan, however, Lauscha has decided to speak openly about the challenges that lie ahead.
“I think about it all the time,” Lauscha said of his looming duties in a recent interview. “It’s a tremendous responsibility.”
Besides selecting a new team owner and managing the endowment after Gayle Benson dies, Lauscha will continue to be her point man, in charge of negotiating lease extensions aimed at keeping both the Saints and Pelicans in town well into the future.

Huge loss for our region. Was a great run. Thanks Teedy
My cousin is a contractor in the Jackson metro area. He was just awarded the contract on Friday. It is going to be a retractable roof stadium on a manmade island in the Ross Barnett Reservoir. It will have plenty of spots of tailgating and massive docks for boat gating. Instead of PSLs there will be pit blinds that will be leased out on non-gamedays during duck season.

1. Jerry Jones is the head of the committee that decides relocation. He also cosigned the loan for Mark Davis to get Bank of America to make sure the Raiders moved to Vegas instead of San Antonio. If he goes through that much trouble to make sure that the Raiders did not move to San Antonio, WTF makes you think that they would allow the Saints to move to Austin?
2. See above #1, but add in the fact that a move to OKC would be blocked by the Chiefs as well as the Cowboys.
3. Any move to Orlando would be blocked by the Jaguars, Bucs, and Dolphins.
4. It is in the expansion agreement that no team can move to a city in North Carolina or South Carolina with the approval of the Panthers. So Raleigh is out.

Keep telling yourself this, and I heard for years no team will ever go to Vegas.
Reality is NOLA is much closer to Oakland and your post conveniently ignores the shitehole, number 50 media market, no corporate base, woke loving community whose greatest accomplishment this year is the hairpick of justice.
There are only 32 NFL teams and it’s highest desired asset for the billionaire class. The Saints will eventually sell for market rate, and future owner will be able to do as he pleases with his asset.
Gayle has no love for Teedy and her love for NOLA has likely waned with her carjacking and knowing her asset isn’t valued by this or future city administrations.
I can still follow the Saints in another market.

My father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate told me they are moving as well. The Northshore Saints!
