You talking about when it was on Community College Dr., or behind Uncle Earl's on Perkins?

I liked both locations, but Perkins was way more convenient.

And yeah, that juke box rocked.

Back in the 80's, before it became a full on restaurant, The Chimes was one of the best bars in town.

They had an awesome beer selection WAY before craft and imports got universally popular.

Around the World at The Chimes was not only a huge feat, it was a real eye opener to what other countries called beer.

And the live music scene was badass. (This is when The Varsity was a movie theater).

I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers there, the Sugar Cubes, and The US Times played there pretty often.

Second favorite for me will always be The Bengal.

Then The Caterie.

Then a tie for Sports Illustrated, Murphy's, Doc's, and Fred's.

Damn I swear Zuke worked the door at Snorkels.....maybe he worked at both places or maybe my memory is just that bad

You probably right. You're a couple of years younger than me. When Tiger closed before becoming Stadium Club he may have worked Snorkels/Frogs.
And very well could have worked both joints in 93-96, Snorkels on Wednesdays and Tiger on others.

Quite possibly...

I worked in the mall (Cortana) and my manager was the head bartender at Doc's. So for about 3=4 years, we always started the night there, even if it was dead, because we drank for free.

Good ol' Billy. Had us hooked up no matter how often we took advantage of it.

I was your Grad Assistant Athletic Trainer till 96. Great times, the best is when we went to Austin in the charter bus, and the bus driver fricked up row of cars parked along the road in the park.

The initiation for the ones who score their first points in the baby pool full of shite is something I will never forget!

Holy frick. Trainer Mike! I shite you not I literally drove past Zilker Park this week in Austin. Remember that night I jumped on a Grenade for you and those gals dropped us off at Zilker right at sunrise, hours before the team showed up on the bus. I still remember that chick was studying for CPA exam and I was a 19 yr old LSU 2nd year freshman. Wow!
And yea our bus driver sideswiped a car when leaving the tournament. Oops.

This is awesome. OT doing work.

Was telling my girlfriend this week how our bus parked in front of Petes on 6th and hurried us underage players in the bar first and gave us all wristbands.
Felt like VIPs.

Mike, that was a great trip…the highlight of my time at LSU.

How did we end up with those UT chicks at their apartment? I appreciate you taking care of me that night.

We met them upstairs at Pete's. They took us with them in her Honda Accord. Yours was cute. Her big friend was real nice though and we had a good time. I could find those apartments now if I had to. Off Barton Springs.

90s br bars in My opinion
1. Bengal/Triple A
2. Caterie
3. Snorkels
4. Southdowns/Caddy Cafe
5. Happy Note

Murphy's needs to be included in this list. My freshman year is a blur because of Murphy's....

ETA: The year was 1994. I honestly didn't go there much after that. Spent more time at Caterie, Fred's, etc.

There was a football player that drove a hippie van around that time frame to all the bars. That you?
