Do you honestly think that LIV Golf is entertaining ?

The LIV is to golf what the Harlem Globetrotters were to basketball . . . And that’s being generous.

But they should stand on their own two feet and stop attacking the Tour. If they are proud of their product they should be happy.

Lawsuits creat division and animosity. No one is going to win in this case.

The PGA Tour is owned by the players that are in good standing. That should be preserved IMO.

The European Tour was already having issues becauseof covid restrictions. If it dissolves, is that good for the game and it's future.

It's the PGA tour doing the attacking of LIV.

PGA is NOT owned by the players. Fallacy.

the PGA has been financially supporting the DP tour before covid and have since expanded their financial support by 25% over the next 13-yrs.

My feeling on this PGA vs. LIV is similar to AFL vs. NFL until they finally merged. That took some humility on all sides.

I think the PGA tour needs to stop influencing the powers of preventing LIV players from earning points AND preventing them from playing PGA events and stop trying to strong arm the majors too.

If the PGA and DP tours can form a partnership, then they can w/ LIV tour. But LIV needs to go to 72-holes though.

Compromises on all sides needs to happen.

This is rich considering the Commissioner of the Tour invoked 9/11 and it's largest media personality called a players Christianity into question, you know a personal attack

It sounds like this was not a well sourced report. Young’s team fired back pretty quickly on this.

Wait, what? PGA players are like 1099 independent contractors. They don't own the tour. Hell they don't even have a players union looking out for their bests interests.

Getting payed up front is like every other sport? I guess Bergman doesn’t care now that he has his contract.

Did we ever determine if all the money is up front, or is it broken down per year?

That's wrong.

Current players vote on the Tour Staff positions and they have the Players Policy Board that reviews every important decision.

Current Players voted to ban the LIV players along with the Staff.

how it was formed :

After several months,[19] a compromise was reached in December: the tour players agreed to abolish the APG and form the PGA "Tournament Players Division", a fully autonomous division under the supervision of a new 10-member Tournament Policy Board.[20][21][22][23] The board consisted of four tour players, three PGA of America executives, and three outside members, initially business executives.[21][22][24]

Did one side have an endless supply of money to buy all of the good players? Or was it a more even playing field? These AFL/NFL, NBA/ABA, and NFL/USFL analogies need to stop. This isn't even remotely close to those.

Filing a lawsuit and slinging mud like questioning religious beliefs on tv aren't the same thing.

Just my opinion of course

I wonder if joining LIV will impacts these players and winning majors. Most majors winners have some form going into the big tournaments and I have to think there is some cadence from playing week in and week out. I know a lot take off a week before but just curious if lack of tournament play leading up to majors is impactful. I suppose time will tell. I need to see some LIV major winners to buy in.

I’m not talking about the Tiger Woods and Ben Hogans of the world.

The future of golf is this...
PGA has a 35 regular stop schedule (no world golf events with limited fields) ...each players has to play 14 events..fed ex cup is 3 events..top 70 ...top 48...top30......then after Fed Ex cup in early Sept...(LIV is renamed the World Tour) World Tour events play 7 tournaments in Sept...OCT ...NOV..Dec..with top 48 from Fed Ex Cup.. around the world at venues that are world class...Pine Valley ...Royal Melbourne...Murfield...Hirono(Japan)...Royal Portrush..Shangin(China) and then end it in US at Doral.. the team format is still utilized to make all have a stake in the World Events.. events are played every 2 weeks...the pga tour has a 7 fall tournament schedule(Sept-Nov) for those who finished 49-150 in fed ex cup and 25 top golfers from Korn Ferry tour play in events with 8 million dollar purses...no fed ex cup points...no automatic invite to masters..but they get world ranking points..tournaments are played on dates when there are no World Tour events..those who finish in the top 52 are automatically exempt into next yrs 35 tournament schedule...so thats 100 golfers exempt in to field then its other spots are filled with Monday qualifiers...sponors exemptions...ranking from fall schedule 53-126.. The money the top 48 golfer could make would be really high....like the top football..baseball...basketball players...really the top 150 golfers on Fed Ex and 25 Korn Ferry players all do well!!! All this is based on merit...Sorry Phil...Brooks..

You would think he would have come out and denied it at the St. Jude.

It seems most of these rumors turn out to be true in time.

Giving up World Rankings Points to go play in exhibitions.

Scott Vincent has played in all 3 LIV events & has moved up in OWGR with a T7 finish on the Japanese Tour. He's leading the International Series in Singapore after the 1st rd (P. Reed shot +1 & is T79). Winner gets 7 OWGR pts.

He's also won 4 Tournaments in the past year, but this board has never heard about him since he's not on the PGA Tour.
