Monkeypox is spread through the same methods herpes is spread. If herpes is an STD, then so is tPox.

Health officials don't want people to assume it's an STD b/c you don't need to have sex w/a person to catch it.
Not sure why this is so complicated for some of you to get.

Not all forms of herpes is considered an STD.
You can contract herpes without having sex

From what I have read you can catch it from the open sores.. If you put on clothing (assume unwashed) from someone who is infected and from someone's bed sheets (unwashed).. So I assume it is from being in contact or secondary contact of open sores. I think this article was from about 3 weeks ago..

The technical definition for an STD is a disease that is spread through semen and/or vaginal fluid. That vehicle of transmission has not been verified, based on what I have read.
But I think it will be. Then it will be considered an STD.
