How does the overall status of LSU's roster affect the starting QB decision?

LSU has, arguably, the best WR room in the SEC...maybe the country, but a suspect o-line. Suspect as in depth.

The condition of the roster would lead me to believe that, due to the lack of depth along the o-line and unknowns at RB, Daniel's gives LSU the best chance at winning now, between he and Brennan.

I have no idea what kind of production LSU can get from the RB position. The potential is there for sure, but it may be necessary to have the run threat at QB to help boost the rushing attack.

It seems like Nuss has the highest upside and he's the future at QB. He has the ability to extend plays with his feet and the ability to throw the ball effectively.

The question is, do you throw him to the wolves now, or do you let him absorb competent coaching for a year, while you bolster the roster? If he sits this year, and doesn't transfer, you still have him for, potentially, two years while you mentor Walker Howard.

My opinion doesn't mean shite, but it's the off-season and I don't have anything better to do than try to guess what a guy, who is at the top of his game, is thinking about LSU'S QB.

I really can't see Nuss riding the bench at LSU another year if he doesn't win the job.

This statement favors Daniels, then Nuss, and then Myles, in that order.

He has already had a redshirt year and a year post high school to develop physically, I wouldn't see him starting as throwing him to the wolves at all

I don’t get the assumption that Nuss is either starting or riding the bench the whole season.

To me it’s likely he’s not starting, but he will get increasing playing time throughout the season, especially if he continues to progress.

I believe the strength of the WR group that you reference is the key. Whoever the coaches feel can get the ball to our best weapons, on time and accurately, will start.

Oh look another thread about how Myles is a statue and Daniels is so amazing because he’s fast. Shocker. Please take a minute and go watch the play that got Brennan hurt. Tell me what he was doing when hurt…….I’ll wait.

It’s a lost cause bud. Most of the people on here have thrown Brennan in the trash and there is nothing you can do or say to change that.

This isn't a Joe Burrow or even a Jalen Hurts we're talking about. Nuss is a redshirt freshman. He skipped the bowl game specifically so he could have 4 more years to plan his future in football.

He's not leaving LSU this season.

This makes no sense - so you're saying that Myles is good enough to start but not good enough to keep his job?

If you got the best WRs in the country then start the QB who can get those guys the ball best...no brainer

Agree. Team chemistry has a lot to do with it.

You mentioned Nuss has the ability to throw and extend plays with his feet. You HAVE to be able to throw it in this conference. A RB playing QB won’t cut it. A QB has to be able to throw with running ability a luxury and not a guy’s best trait. That being said, my gut tells me our RBs will surprise some people this season and do a great job

It's between Nuss and Daniels, and Nuss will be named the starter soon because Daniels is too piss poor of a passer, given that LSU's strongest position group is its wide receiver corps, to be given the reigns of the LSU starting job. As Daniels will be the wildcat package QB.

Meanwhile, Brennan isn't interested in the starting job. He just wants to be the back up and collect his gravy train NIL. Which is why he never showed up during summer workouts with Nuss and Daniels to throw to the receivers. Indeed, he doesn't care enough about winning the starting job and just wants to collect his lucrative NIL gravy train and be the backup as long as he can. That's also the reason why he re-committed back to LSU when Brian Kelly gave him a reprieve.

Furthermore, a lot of you people have this naive notion that Brennan and Daniels' experience counts for something, but it really doesn't.

As the first thing Brian Kelly did when he arrived here at LSU is wipe the slates of all the football players on the team clean.

Therefore, every single one of the football players on the team have to earn their roles, including the QBs.

Unless Daniel’s has figured out how to throw the ball. He would be a disaster. Not saying he not figured it out. But he has not shown it in three years as a starter.

You have no evidence to back up anything that you ever say. I wish someone would go ahead and ban you so no one has to read anymore of your bullshite.

It's not my fault you are a low-information moron. I didn't have anything to do with that.

Nonetheless, there is a ton of information out there if you half way paid attention, but you so damn stupid that you are actually severely mentally limited.

Nonetheless, moonbat, if you don't believe what I said, then go listen to the Malik Nabers interview with Matt Moscona last week.

Moreover, if you don't believe what I say with respect to Nuss being the most consistent and best QB in all 15 spring practices, then go watch Off the Bench.

Hey, you less than intelligent wingnut, again it's not my fault you are a mega idiot. As you have obviously emotionally attached yourself to Myles Brennan. Thus anytime anyone says anything that is positive about anyone other than Brennan, you emote by personally attacking them like a typical gay person.
