No way 500k jobs were created. Totally manufactured so the msm and D's lie about how great the economy is doing. Layoffs happening all over the place, and the Fed will raise rates at least another 75 basis pts. Assholes

Like the old Soviet Union - had a record wheat harvest every year and no bread in the stores. It doesn't add up.

They’re not new jobs.

It’s just a continuation of people going back to work post Covid

It still looks like where right below the unemployment and the workforce participation numbers posted before the shutdowns

Never believe stats from the gov't; all propaganda in some form. Household survey and almost all other economic surveys from the business side have a 180 degree outlook.
Reminds me of the BS numbers during the BO days.

While I agree the overall messaging is crap, I’m not seeing anything about large-scale layoffs.

Me either. Our school system is at 50% capacity for custodians and grounds people positions. Can’t get anyone to come back to work. It’s not just here.

I must not live or travel for work amongst such places. I see almost the opposite, which honestly is expected after the huge March and April 2020 losses due to governments shutting down commerce all over the place.

FIFY.

Once you accept the fact that both Rs and Ds run the apparatus that is lying to you, you'll be in better shape.

I think they are counting people that are having to work 2-3 jobs as a great thing, which, obviously the opposite is true.

Wal Mart laid off 200 corporate employees this week, I believe... Looking at layoffs at their stores...

Also, Amazon is looking to shrink its workforces as well...

While not necessarily large scale, when retailers start laying off, manufacturers are not far behind...

500,000 might be created, but how many lost jobs and/or transfered jobs?

That is how they cook the numbers

My company is hiring people left and right and we still have great jobs to fill. Layoffs are not happening in large numbers, nor are we seeing an increase in WARN Notices(large scale layoffs). Perhaps the numbers are what they say they are. If we can get the supply chain issues under control, the economy would explode. Not sure why we are not celebrating this good news on the jobs data.

Yeah I don’t think the layoffs are happening yet, but I think it’s on the horizon and companies are putting procedures in place to do it if need be. My girlfriend works for a recruiting firm that has accounts with a lot of top consulting and other Fortune 500 firms. Basically most are now cooling down on hiring, some have put hiring freezes in place.
