How effective is the radiant barrier on reducing attic temps? I have a high slop roof with dark shingles. Attic and bonus room are absurdly hot

According to everything I’ve read on the subject, 15 to 20 F drop if installed properly.

In June when it was 100 degrees outside my attic was 108. I also have dark shingles, lots of ridge vents and all the soffits are perforated vinyl. I was happy it was only 8 degrees hotter than outside.
