Culotta said Verge has been telling LSU what other schools have done for their athletes

Jordy said on his show this morning if I heard him correctly that Verge is telling LSU what other schools are doing for the athletes on their recruiting visits. Jordy said when Saban was here, he talked about the 40 year plan. With Les Miles and coach O, it was 3 years and go to the NFL. With Brian Kelly, he is getting back to Saban’s 40 year plan and graduating champions. I thought that was interesting that he said Verge is telling LSU on his son’s recruiting visits that Ohio St is doing this for their athletes, and this school is doing that for their players and we need to do the same thing or this is a great idea that they are doing.

It's called Competitive Intelligence and any organization worth a shite does this. Verge is in a unique position to contribute a lot of valuable information from the parent side of things. It just makes sense that they are leveraging that.

Too bad Verge doesn't use his "unique position" with his sons to persuade them to play for LSU.

Les installed a model that did not keep us competitive on a yearly basis, and Ed continued it.
We offered something different for a while, and were very good at churning out NFL prospects. Unsustainable without on-the-field success and I'm glad we're back to something more system and process oriented.

Would you pressure your kids to go where you want them to or let them make the decision they think is best?

You can’t blame U High kids for wanting to leave town. Can you imagine having your parents on top of you all 4 years of college?

LSU will be just fine without the Ausberry boys. I wish them the best.
Jaiden appears headed to ND.

That’s great. Verge should have been fired.

I do this all of the time in my line of work.
Verge must be a fan of the Godfather

First off, the son who signed with Auburn was not high on LSU's offer list to begin with
The one coming out this year is more highly rated but I can't blame a kid for wanting to make his own decision and not being pushed to LSU just because your dad works here
They need to forge their own path and Verge is going to support that decision either way
LSU signed Eric Reid but when it came time to offer Justin Reid they had players rated higher and Justin made his decision to go to Stanford which worked out just fine for him

He is. It's called being a dad. He's letting his sons do what they think is best for their college and their future. I would assume, and certainly can be wrong, that he is being a sounding board for them. Giving them things to thing consider, etc. Unless you are writing the check, why tell your kid where they have to go to college?

Talent was never the issue under less.
Our offense was basically hamstrung every year.
People can complain about the NFLSU stuff all they want, but less onoy has 3 season with less than 10 wins (4th if you count 2015 but we had 9 wins and cancelled McNeese)

Don't kid yourself. This is still the plan for a lot of players no matter what you hear.

Not long enough.
I need the plan for the thousand year LSU Reich.

Show is nearly unlistenable except for player interviews. Culotta melting earlier this year about LSU program is headed back to the Curley Hallman era with NIL/recruiting is one for the ages.
