Are any of the dealerships coming off the sticker price? Looking at mid-size trucks

Heading out to look at a couple of mid-size trucks anyone ever deal with Matt Bowers in Slidell? Opinions on the Chevy Colorados

Guy I work with was at the Ford dealer the other day and they had an F150 on the lot with an $8,000 dealer premium on the window sticker.

With rates up you would think they would come off some but who knows.

Very few dealers coming off the sticker these days.
Solid truck. They've worked the bugs out of them, and they are more comfortable than the other mid sized trucks.
They are updating the design next year. You might find a deal if you get a 2022 model with fairly common color/trim level.

What goes up, will come down.

Lamarque Ford is knocking $4,000 off of a bunch of XLT trucks they have in stock.

There are some, you just may have to travel. When I was ordering my new Ford, there were at least a dozen or so high volume dealers that were offering invoice minus a percentage.
If you're willing to wait 4-6 months, custom order exactly what you want. You'll get an additional 1500 rebate for this.
I bought at invoice price from a local dealer. Think it ended up being around 5k off MSRP which I was more than happy with paired with the ridiculous trade in I received.

Why would they demand exceeds supply...

Don’t count on it until demand slows down.
They can’t keep inventory on the lot right now, so the likelihood of getting a discount is low.

Can't speak to the discounts right now on them. But I know two people with Chevy Colorado pickup trucks and they both love them.
I like them because they don't have cylinder deactivation, they don't have turbochargers, and they don't have that stop/start bullshite that other trucks have. And GM finally worked out the timing chain issues from the earlier 3.6L engines, so it's pretty sturdy now.

I had a 2016 GMC Canyon which is the same truck. Had to have the entire steering column replaced after a year. Dumped it for a 4Runner and haven't looked back. I'd look at a Tacoma if I were you.

Consider yourself lucky if there is even a model to test drive at your local dealer. You are probably going to have to buy one in transit.
The Colorado is a good truck if you are okay with an older design with 5-10 year old technology. Check out the GMC dealers too because they have basically the same truck called the Canyon.

They will if people cannot afford them in the recession

Latest projection I’ve read indicated prices may start to fall in 2023. Wait it out.

Which is fine if you have time to wait.
Car demand spiked over the past two years between free government money and supply chain issues restricting supply.
Someone needing a car right now will get fricked. Someone who can comparison shop or wait in prices to go down can get a discount.

I was looking at a new Porsche last week - besides a year and half wait for delivery there is a $15,000 dealer premium over and above the MSRP. Decided to keep my 03 911 a bit longer.

Good choice if you don't mind a dated interior. They had some teething issues when they came out with them 7-8 years ago, but they are good options now. They tow a lot for a mid sized truck.
Skip the 4 cylinder and get the V6 engine. The Colorado ZR2 model is an excellent off road rig, but they get worse gas mileage than the other Colorados trim levels. Avoid the ZR2 if you don't need extreme off road capability.

That's impressive.
We are trying to buy a new SUV. The dealers are demanding a premium for anything "in stock" right now. You can get MSRP or sometimes slightly below if you order one and wait 6-10 weeks.
This is a weird time.

I had to buy a new truck and got a Canyon with the V6 for MSRP. I felt like was a win given the environment. I love the truck.
