After three and a half years, the 'Rona finally got me.

The wife started feeling bad on Friday, felt a little worse on Saturday and was pretty much bed-ridden all day Sunday. It was about like a bad cold and gave her a bad cough. This was her 2nd confirmed time to have it, 3rd if you count her being sick in Jan 2020 (before there were tests).
Sunday evening I quickly began feeling tired. I took some Zicam, vitamins and Nyquil. Monday was rough, temp up to 101.3 then bouncing up and down between 99 and 101 all day. I stayed in bed from around 8pm Sunday night til 10am today (Tuesday).
This morning she picked up a couple of tests and tested us: both of us have it.
Felt like a solid flu, but it's already passing. While it hasn't impacted my senses of taste nor smell, it's made me completely not hungry for anything (I've had half of a biscuit since Sunday night).
Oh, and we're on vacation this week.

Yeah I just got it about a month back, and it was also on my PTO week. It sucked really bad for a day, then I started slowly getting better.
Stock up on Nyquil, drink lots of fluids, and set up a telemed appt with your doctor. Talk to them about getting Paxlovid if you need it.
Get some rest. And stay away from others for about 5-6 days from the time you started showing symptoms.

Good luck and get well soon. Sounds like more than a mild case, but good that you are already recovering.
Isn't that always the way

It was 2-3 days after my fever died that I lost my taste and smell. It might still happen. You talk about not wanting to eat when everything taste like nothing.
It came back in a week or two.

If you will, how do you know it wasn't just a cold/flu?
Edit: missed the tests part.
That said, the tests have been shown essentially worthless.

Just curious if I had managed to continue avoiding it or not.

Same here damnit
I got it last Tuesday Wife next day. Just getting over it. 3 really crappy days then easing up each day since.
The govt should classify use as vaxxed but where is the money in that?
