This thread has gone about as I figured. Just waiting on the histrionic emotional thinkers to tell us this is the biggest event in our lives and the world is about to end.
Trailer looks really good. My excitement level has gone from 1.5 to about a 5.
Doesn't look like it cost $5 like WoT, which legit had the production values of a Xena-level show. Biggest hurdle: achieved.

If this was going to be a good show and not a representation of what the real world should look like than I would leave it alone and not want to ruin the thread. This is going to be a shite show and I really don’t care anymore. You people ruined our show the last thing I care about is ruining a thread about it now.

I am a pretty big fan of The Hobbit (book at least) and loved the LOTR books and movies. I have never read the Silmariliion and am pretty limited in my knowledge of the material covered there (not really sure if that is really what this show is based on or not). Having said all that, nothing really grabbed me in this trailer as directly linked to the LOTR stories as far as needing to have seen the movies/read the books to "get" this show. I get that some of the elvish characters may make appearances, but I had no idea who any of them were. I want it to be good, and hope it is, but some of the online complaints have me a little worried.
It looked well made and some of the landscape shots were really nice to look at. Nothing seemed overtly agenda driven in that trailer. I'll definitely give it a watch.

Yeah, but not everything alluring and seductive is based on sex. The snake in the Garden of Eden for instance is alluring and seductive promising them great knowledge. With Sauron it is based on power. Sauron is all about control and is capable of convincing you that he can allow you to control literally anything, including immortality. That’s where he comes from and why you and all those “superfans” do not truly understand Lord of the Rings.
