Outstanding…I loved that movie…the music, the dialogue, the vibe….casting was perfect too. Anyone else enjoy this film?

Yes I enjoyed it a lot. But I recall getting blasted here for my positive opinion of the movie when it first came out.

I've heard people kill it too, but I enjoyed the hell out of it...the old lady was great, and I pretty much love anything the Cohen brothers touch.

I enjoyed it but it is typically listed at the bottom of the Coen Bro rankings. I do wish they would release a blu-ray of the movie, I try and collect certain directors movies and this one never had a release.

Beginning and end scenes were filmed in Natchez MS.

Haven't seen this one, but it can't be worse than Hail, Caesar!, can it?

I enjoyed it and I never watched the original. I watched it because I'm a Coen Brothers fan, frankly.
Such a strong cast, I think Hanks (while excellent) was one of the weaker parts of the film. Most of that is probably attributable to the relative "straight man" nature of the role, setting up the comedy for others.
It was nice to see George Wallace in such a good role. Great comic.

The original (1955) with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers is also a fun movie.
