For the most part, Entergy has solid rank and file employees. Their operations team is decent. But their corporate leaders and the company as a whole may as well be Comcast. Everyone hates them.

Correct.

As they should. Entergy absolutely sucks as an organization.

They charge outrageous fees and never seem to upgrade and invest in their own infrastructure, which ends up breaking down every time there's even a minor storm or incident.

I'll give you one guess as to why they have shite the bed in senior executive management the last 15-20 years

I would say their linemen are solid.

Their customer service and billing employees are trash.

And their absolute lack of ability to maintain / prevent issues is stunning... but I'm guessing that's because they don't fund employees to do that kind of work.

Sunday night... no wind, no rain... most of St. Bernard lost power. Some for about 10 min some up to an hour... and it wasn't everyone at once. Apparently there was a short in a main line.

I understand stuff breaks... but aren't these things supposed to be checked and maintained so this doesn't happen?

There were no weather issues or load issues.

The difference here is that Comcast would’ve lied and claimed that they used their service. Comcast and Cox both have been caught in such lies.

I couldn’t have said this any better. I retired from them in 2016 after 34 years. The majority of people that are not in upper management are good hard working people. If you ask any hourly paid employee (not counting the majority of people that work in cubicles) they could tell you when their retirement date is. Gulf States Utilities was a good company to work for. When Entergy bought out GSU in the late 90’s it’s been down hill ever since. It really took a sharp turn south in the mid 2000’s when they started pushing all the diversity stuff.
