i still haven't played the first one. it just didn't play like the originals did for me. seemed too much like an RPG with too much fluff in the crafting weapons aspect.

I guess sending the devs dick pics really does motivate them to release info. Not a good precedent to set.

This game is going to be fricking great tho

There was a tweet chain from developers, Cory Barlog included, asking people to be civil towards the people making the games because they want to share info with the public when they can. I don't know what was specifically done but gamer internet culture is toxic, who knew.

I doubt this is in response to any of that and was probably already planned. But lots of people covering games were curious why a somewhat firm release date had been announced yet and the natives were getting restless.

for the 15 minutes i played, i remember having to go to a work bench or something and navigate the menus of building up my axe. i was out after that.

this was also 4 or 5 years ago so i may not be remembering it correctly.

I mean it is in there, but it's a tiny part of the game. I HATE crafting in games, and that system didn't bother me in the least.

I think it was very minimal. Most of the time it was having enough of the the games currency, hacksilver(?), to be able to afford the upgrade or craft. It wasn't super involved and definitely not mandatory.

Go back and give it another shot. It has light RPG elements at most which is mainly gaining new abilities after leveling up and putting in upgrades and mods to your weapons and armor. Not much more than that and the combat is so satisfying.

It has a less involved menu system than the original games with all the god abilities and upgrades

You didn’t really have to go off the path for most of the upgrade mats.

I've been debating either starting far cry 5 (never played any of those games before) or just playing god of war again. I usually never replay games nowadays.
