Under our new law, never again will Florida families be denied the right to visit a loved one in the hospital.

This is now the way of the land.

GREAT move that should be followed by other states

To me, forcing someone to die alone is a crime against humanity. Almost as bad as school closures

This law seems like a reasonable restraint on authoritarians.

For all of Florida’s faults, they have been a shining beacon through this shite storm known as COVID.

Eh there should be some restrictions.

ie there are normal ICU visiting hours due to procedures being done at certain hours and shift changes. Also only a certain number of people should be allowed in at any one time. Otherwise you have situations where there are dozens of people loitering around a hospital room. A certain demographic is notorious for this

But not allowing anybody to visit covid patients was disgusting

My mom pretty much died alone. Was in the hospital for two weeks and couldn’t see her. We talked them into letting her come home with Hospice and she died the next day.

I had a nurse threaten to kick me out of the hospital while my mom was in her final hours of her life because I left the room to go to switch out with my brother and his wife due to the policy of 4 of us couldn’t be in the room at the same time. Said that we were allowed to switch out 1 time and that was it. I begged to let the 4 of us spend the last few hours of her life in the same room together and they wouldn’t. Going through one of the most difficult times in my life and a nurse was telling me if I left the room one more time to switch out with my brother I would be kicked out and not allowed back.

I can't imagine having to go through something like that, man. What these hospitals did during the pandemic is absolutely criminal, ghoulish behavior.

I would have gladly made the national news in that situation if they tried to remove me or my family from the room.

Checking in from SWFL and even with all of the Yankee snowbirds, this place is fantastic. Been here for almost 8 years and now that everyone is dead or has moved, Baton Rouge will only be a place I take my husband to for a Tigers game. Once. Two years ago, he had the pleasure of seeing St. Gerard on Plank Road, where my parents were married and where I grew up. I don't know if the flooding from 2016 made 70805 worse, or just time and decay.

My sister and niece barely made it to my moms room 5 minutes before she passed. They wouldn't let my brother in to see her.

I developed a severe lack of respect for the medical field over the past two years. I already had major issues with my own treatment but watching how fricking ridiculous they were during Covid, I loathe the system.

That's why I don't support Scrub Lives Matter.
