just a bit more money WOULD SOLVE IT!

Metro Nashville Schools (MNPS) spent nearly two million dollars on 130 thermal imaging cameras to help schools identify students running temperatures to keep COVID out of classrooms.

MNPS bought the cameras through the $18 million no-bid contract with Meharry Medical College and sub-contractors Recover Health.

According to Kapu’s invoice, he charged Recover Health 890 thousand dollars.

But Recover Health and Meharry Medical College charged MNPS $1.9 million, which makes that a $1 million markup.

holy shite! who would have imagined a no-bid VIRTUE SIGNALLING minority business contract would result in skyhigh profits?

Watch the video

These are $50 no-name droid phones mounted to $5 alibaba wall mounts with some glorified thermal imaging app (i hope metro sprang for the ad-free version! or is that update another million?) that are grabbing one frame of video every 2-3 seconds to determine if what...? the red band means TYPHOID SUZI is trying to sneak into the school?? Ferris Bueller workin' on his thermal headband as we speak.

WHO said public school systems can't manage money?

Oh, and this also just in...the ONE MILLION N95 masks the school ordered have finally arrived as well this year.

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) leaders say they have started the process of distributing one million KN95 masks to its schools.

District leaders say they bought the masks after hearing new guidance from the CDC.

“In response to newer health recommendations about face coverings and the importance of KN95 masks in helping to reduce transmission of the virus, we have purchased one million KN95 masks to provide to students and staff who want them,” Director of Schools Dr. Adrienne Battle said.

A spokesperson with MNPS says they considered offers from 10 different companies before making the purchase, choosing the option with the lowest price and fastest delivery.

They bought 500,000 thousand adult-sized masks, at $0.17 cents each, and youth masks at $0.37 cents each, spending $270,000 in all.

Some critics chimed in on the FOX 17 News social media pages, saying they believe this purchase is a waste of money, as the government is now sharing masks for free.

These thermal imaging cameras could also identify active shooters, but a FOX17 News investigation revealed no metro schools are using that feature.

This will require another $1M markup.

These are the same government entities that our liberal posters insist will bring down the costs of college tuition and healthcare if we just give them sole power over said programs.

The stimulus packages dumped so much money into public school systems that they are literally having a hard time spending it all. Our government at work.

Part of my job requires occasionally working with thermal imagery. The idea that a glorified Android app can do this from a tablet to any degree of accuracy +/-1 degree F is laughable. This is graft and theater.
