Pels look like they will wait until mid season trade deadline to make a trade if any…

I like this strategy. Start the year off with what you have and see how everyone jells and performs. It is like we are getting two lottery picks added to our team in Zion and Dyson. Perhaps Jax and Graham can improve their trade value and give Pels a nice packaged asset to move for another veteran piece. No sense in being to impulsive now. Lets see what we got.

Have to make a move to clear two spots before camp

You can't make that assumption. The KD trade is backing the entire system up.

the talent infusion coming from those two combined with fewer minutes for others, added to last years team, is going to be fun
I don’t want any changes to the roster other than swapping temple for EJ

This is the smart play. I think we can get Grahams value back up if he plays with Zion and gets wide open looks at 3 on the second team.
They may have more teams trying to tank at the deadline also.

I don’t think our assets are in demand enough to worry about moving them right now. I would rather Griff wait around and try and find a team that misses out on FA and deal with them. Similar to how we had to make a move for Graham last year after we struck out on the other PGs on the market.

I have never liked the Graham fit or acquisition, thought people got way too carried away with him last year when we first got him, and that also probably contributed to the frustrations later on cause people set way too high of expectations on a guy best suited to be a 7th or 8th man. But if he can be relegated to a bench C&S and movement off ball shooter, he can be a very effective spark plug for us. Sort of how Langston Galloway was for us.
He just needs to never be given the keys to running the offense as the primary facilitator and told he has a green light to pull up from the logo(or anywhere beyond the arc) ever again.

Why is everyone so obsessed with improving the trade value of our players?
If Graham improves and suddenly becomes the 40% 3 point shooter people THINK he is then we need him and won't be trading him. He has NEVER shot close to that and I don't think he will get there but if he does it would be dumb to trade him.
If Hayes gets better and can handle the 5 we are sure as hell not going to trade him, if he can replace JV in a couple of years it doesn't make any sense to trade him. He is an athletic freak and probably and I could see him and Zion side by side both playing a hybrid 4/5 role every night.
I think the trajectory for both is not that good though. I think Graham will be typical Graham shooting +/-35% and horrible on Defense all while making poor decisions and I think Hayes may become a cap casualty if he doesn't develop into a starting 5. He just wouldn't fit with the Pels starting group and would cost to much money as a back up.

One spot and only is Liddell does NOT accept a 2way contract is my understanding.

B/c he’s small, we have a bunch of other small guards that weren’t here when we signed him and outside of CJ, he’s making the most. And I hate to see us have to give up an asset to move a player we just gave up #15 for…..
Plus more mins for Jose, Lewis, and Daniels.
