I’m perfectly fine with Morgan playing 1st base at LSU but I would bet a lot of money that Morgan will be playing outfield at the next level.

Because you don't need someone with all-american athleticism at 1st base. His glove is much more valuable in the OF.

I don't care where he's projected to play in the pros he's LSU's best infielder which is more important than him sitting in the outfield. He's rock solid at 1st and we have plenty of problems for the OF so it's not difficult to find a good replacement there for depth purposes anyway. You don't move your best infielder to the outfield. That's just stupid. White can move to 3B it's that simple it's up for grabs anyway. Morgan's arse should stay planted where he's at being a model of consistency and excellence. I don't care how good White was as a freshman he's not going to come in and jostle Morgan out of his all-american position.

Jay still looking for an infielder means Carter Young or Zane Denton. Either way, Thompson would get the opportunity to play 2B or 3B (or even OF). Dugas will prob get a look at the same spots as Thompson.
If White is not at 3B, he'll be mainly a DH. He'd be fine at 1B but we're past putting Morgan in the OF at LSU. He hasn't been healthy, and you have other good OFs that are more comfortable there right now. Will they look at it? Sure. But, you want an OF of Dugas/Pearson, Crews, and Kling...with Morgan and Stevenson as options. You also have Ruddell and Mic Paul coming into the OF. The OF is just too loaded to really try Morgan now.

You do when you need good infield defense and he's your best infielder. Morgan is not moving out of the infield period. They are loaded with depth in OF. You'd be sacrificing defense which is already not good for possibly more offense that's already looking great. Why?

It doesn’t make sense that Morgan would play outfield where projected as a major league prospect? When you have another good option at first. Makes a good bit of sense to me

No it doesn't because of LSU's current situation with their defensive infield. White can easily slide over to 3B, have his promised position, and be very productive. Why would you waste Morgan who's the best infielder on the team in the outfield that is loaded with depth? If they were desperate for getting the best batters in that would be a possibility but LSU's lineup isn't going to be desperate on offense next season.
The only way this would happen is if someone blossoms and blows up where they feel comfortable not needing him in the infield. Right now, hell no.

He does have basis every pro scout says he will not play first base in the pros. I wouldn’t call that rumors.

Morgan is also 20.
He physically won’t look the same at 23-24 when he makes it to the majors.
He also hits for contact now and probably will get coached to hit for power at the next level. I cant Imagine being 4 inches choked up on the bat 90% of the time is good for his power numbers
