It was pretty obvious that Trump was grifting on his election claims when they were happening. I am enjoying that a number of Right Wingers, including some former MAGA, are picking up on the grifting.

One of my business partners who hates Trump (but adamantly considers himself a "staunch" conservative) tried to strike up a conversation with me the other day about the $250M taken from "MAGA idiots" that Trump just kept for himself. He said the "MAGA idiots" were dumb for thinking Trump cared about them.

My response was: "Let me stop you there. One, I NEVER felt Trump ran for POTUS because he 'cared about me'. But I benefitted from him being in office. Even if his reasons for doing so were of total self-interest. And two, I don't give a shite if he took the $250M and built himself a new private golf course with it. For me, you, and the overwhelming majority of productive citizens in this country Trump being the POTUS was FAR better than the absolute mess we are experiencing now. A mess where the current administration is still taking my money (more of it than Trump did) and completely wasting it. This isn't the 'I told you so' you are hoping for."

If I am voting for my new best friend or golfing buddy Trump probably would not have gotten the nod. But I don't need my POTUS to be my best friend. So I don't really give the slightest of shits that Trump's personality was "repulsive."
