Fore LSU honestly should be in both each year, however, realistically I know some years will be down. With a new coach in football I would normally say 2 seasons away but LSU is an experienced team so next year.

Baseball had its adjustment period so next year they should be in the CWS competing

Is contending considered CWS and Playoffs?

If so, I’d say they should each get a shot in the next 3-5 years

Better shot here than in football, but I still think 2 years for sure.

IF baseball can recruit some actual top pitchers (top round guys, 7 innings per start) and keep the bats alive then I see us back in Omaha within 2 years. The fielding is what worries me though and if that doesn’t improve next year ( no reason it can’t) then nevermind.

Football isn’t there yet because of the secondary attrition and offensive line. It’s probably 2 years away from being a top 5 team at best if we can recruit the right guys and keep the right guys. It doesn’t help that Bama isn’t slowing down.

Football will be longer, as the roster was down to 35 ish kids. It's going to take 3 yrs just to build the roster back up (not relying on 10 trasfers a year). Remember a ton of the transfers and starters this coming year have 1 yr of eligibility left, or will go pro (boutte, ojulari), so 2023-24 might be rough. 4-5 years for football. 1-3 for baseball... much easier to have an impact player make the team that much better. Grab 2 stud pitchers and this year's team might be in Omaha.

LSU has an experienced QB returning with an experienced back up.... RB, WR, OL, DL, secondary etc.... I don't see it as hasty as the talent has always been there

If JJ is as good as most think he should make it to Omaha in 23 or 24.

Football prob a couple years. If bk stays 10 yrs I think he will win more than 1 national title.

With the talent we have, I would say 2-3 years. But considering the experience and proven track record of our coaches, this should get us back to the top in 2 years.

Baseball: 2023 or 2024

Football: If we are competing for an SEC Title in 2023, then 2024. If not, I fear it will be 10 years from now, after we have moved on from Kelly.

Lets just put it this way: Jumbo's first 5 years of 8&4 just won't cut it at LSU... TWO years at 8&4 will be "OFF with his head!"

Baseball is trickier. Not a high revenue sport so, maybe 3 or 4 years with no CWS and it's "OFF with his head!"

90 million dollar buyout says this won’t happen. Brian Kelly’s contract is set up to where they won’t even think about firing him until year 5 or 6. I think LSU will be in the hunt in 2023 or 2024.

LSU will be in the CWS next season.

Whole new coaching staff, training staff, nutrition, etc.
Whole new playbooks (again)
Whole new culture
New QB
Practically whole new DBs
Transfer portal of new names to build chemistry
Not least of which, NIL asteroid that changed the forces of college football, especially in SEC

This ain't Madden plug n play. In real world, with real human beings, championships will take a little more time.

Put me down for 3-5 year range and contingent upon how well LSU masters NIL.

Like LSU ain't willing to play the buy-out game... I think we may be paying more in buyouts than in actual coaches' salaries. Exaggeration, perhaps, (definitely) but just look at the numbers.

In this case, LSU baseball next season. LSU football, 2024 at the earliest.
