Yes. But in the end it was totally worth it to accomplish…uh…whatever it was we accomplished in Afghanistan.

There’s a time for this. And this isn’t it.

And 15 minutes after the US left Afghanistan everything in that picture made no difference

Our idiot leaders did not learn from history. Should have killed everything and everyone in that shithole country.

Well, we accomplished our mission of removing the taliban from power and disarming them in order to
*flips pages, checks notes*
Arm the taliban and have them seize power.

If nothing else, it showed we don’t back down and will fight if provoked. We’re not afraid to spend 20 years and trillions of dollars blowing your arse to pieces so don’t frick with us because if you do, we’ll do just that and then gift all our equipment to you when we leave.

So this is really weird bc I know a former marine who served in Afghan during that time by that name but he neither is from or lives in Louisiana and he’s too old to have fit that age and while it can be hard to tell it doesn’t look like him

I was in the Kunar Province in 2009, at about the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. We would get attacked, and give chase, and then have to stop, because the Taliban knew we were not allowed to follow them into Pakistan. This was a regular occurrence, that was happening before I got there, and continued after I left. If we could fight the war without our hands tied behind our backs, the scenario would be overwhelming different. These terrorist frickers knew the game.
