After more than half the team entered the portal I really think this hire was an attempt to get as many back as possible since the word is the kids liked Uhlman and hated Jewett. I used to be very close to the program but after Pierce left I might have gone to a dozen games max. The last two years I haven't even bothered to watch a game on ESPN+. The one sport that used to be consistently competitive is in the dumpster now.

Hiring a guy to retain kids from a team that missed the postseason and was quite mediocre doesn’t seem like a wise strategy
