Look for word after tee off tomorrow. A ban is coming. I hear years. Also Augusta out except for past champs rule. Us open futures are out. This will get ugly it looks. This is coming from a former usga board member.

Personally know him. This is what he was told weeks ago. Could have changed but will be close.

I just don't see how if the field gets better and they get OWGR points how they're going to keep them out. I don't see how they'll just say, if you play LIV you can't play our major.
Obviously that's two big caveats, but just banning them for pretty much no reason is dumb in my opinion

The OWGR governing board consists of people from the PGA Tour, the Euro Tour, R&A, USGA, PGA of America, the International Federation of PGA Tours, and Augusta National. Why on earth would they approve LIV’s application and why would you presume it’s imminent they’ll get their application approved by the same people trying to shut them down?
It’s a matter of “when” these guys approve LIV’s application? Where are you seeing that?

How many 54 hole events are approved by the OWGR?

It's not my opinion, I'm just telling you what seems to be happening
And every weather shortened event still gets the same points it would have as a 72 hole event, no?

I disagree. All players starting at same time means playing in same conditions, so draws are not determining outcomes of tournaments. Also allows some players start their round a little later, which I am sure they like. It happens flawlessly every weekend all across the country.

Average pro golfers? They have at least 13 majors among just a few golfers so far. They are assembling a pretty good group and it’s only beginning. No way the tour stars watch people like Martin Kaymer make more money in seven tournaments than they make an entire year for long. This is a huge problem for PGA.

Great for the players, but question is is it great for viewers. I agree it’s a problem for the tour but some are acting like LIV is the greatest format for golf ever.
