I would describe myself as being fairly liberal. I think you need to actually talk to the average person.

I can at least spell racism and I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to.
We're not suffering from hyperinflation in the slightest - a high period of inflation != hyperinflation.

Dems are very good at selling voters on a single issue whether it be gun control, LGBT issues, abortion, increase in minimum wage, forgiving student loans, and their new favorite "racial issues". They do this by convincing voters that Republicans will take that one thing they actually do care about away. Anything else doesn't matter to them: these voters feel compelled to protect that one thing.
Trump's 2016 campaign was so successful because he basically talked about none of the above issues and they couldn't pin him on anything. In the meantime, however, Dems, with overtime help from MSM, were able to turn everything into a racial issue and Trump couldn't escape from it.

I know 1 or 2 hardcore leftists. Surprisingly, they work in the food service industry (shocker). All of the things you mentioned, they "don't want to talk about it" but they sure as shite are posting about "we need to get the Republicans out of office". When confronted about what they vote for and believe in, they obfuscate and try to change the subject.
That's why leftism is nothing more than a cult followed by mindless idiots. They can't defend their own party. They can defend how they vote. When challenged with their hypocrisy, they simply don't care. Think about that. How do you have an intelligent conversation with someone who doesn't care that what they say 1 day, completely contradicts what they say the next day, and they aren't even bothered by it? Therefore, politics is their cult, and they have a fanatical worshipping of anything their politicians and media tells them to worship.
