Then Joe Biden can give up his armed security detail and carry that 2 round shotgun and protect himself.

He's right. I support the 2A but a handgun is plenty enough to defend oneself. Now I could see an argument for higher capacity weapons for people living alone in places where wild animals could be a problem. But against a human being, a handgun is enough.

Then GTFO

Well that was fricking brilliant.

GFY. You know nothing about ballistics, permanent and temporary cavities, and incapacitation. The purpose of a pistol is to fight your way to a rifle. I carry either a Sig P320 or Glock 43X on my person at all times; however, if my life is at stake, I want my Galil in 7.62×39.

It’s a song mocking his double barrel shotgun line.
He says Jill was instructed to walk out to the balcony and fire off two blasts.
Fire both shells and then hide I suppose.
He’s an idiot.

From multiple attackers with high powered rifles?
Good luck.

Right about shooting both shells in a double barrel shotgun as a warning?
Good grief.

Is that going to be enough against assailants or soldiers carrying 40 round mags?

Until the other human being is threatening you and your kids with an "assault weapon".

2 12 gauge shells to the chest seems like overkill. Might ought to save one in case there is another assailant.

No freaking way you do!

Handguns murder 60,000% more people than any form of long rifle "assault" weapon.
If you really wanted to crack down on gun murders, handguns are the first place you'd start.

You don't get to decide that for me or anyone else.

Time for my dumb analogy...
If we want to limit types of guns for safety, why don't we limit types of cars for safety?
Make all cars governed at 70mph to reduce the number of accidents and the severity of those accidents?
Greater good right?

See, that’s the great thing. You get to decide when, how or if you exercise your rights. You do not get to decide when, how or if others exercise their right.
You are free to just have a handgun to protect yourself. That is your right. Others may think they need something different or something more. And that is their right.

Handguns in and of themselves are not terribly accurate outside of a fairly short distance. Then, you have to couple that with extreme stress almost all of us would be in if we had to engage in a gun fight for our lives. The adrenaline that is pumping through you while being shot and trying to hit someone trying to shoot you must be immense. Hitting your intended target with just a few shots in that scenario isn't easy. The target is not a paper silhouette just hanging on a clothespin.
Of all the commonly owned guns a shotgun is the most efficient tool of self-defense because it gives you a greater margin of error.
But, ultimately, "need" is subjective and irrelevant. While I hope this is NEVER the case, if I or my family is/are put in a situation where I have to fire shots at another human being to protect the lives of me and/or my family, I want as much firepower as possible. How much is "enough" is the amount necessary to put down the threat. Maybe it's one shot. Maybe it's 15. But I sure as hell want that 15 available if that is what it is going to take.
And I think it is the height of fricking arrogance for a person who has one of, if not THE, most well trained and armed security details in the world (none of whom are just packing a 2 round shotgun) to tell the rest of the country what they "need" to protect themselves. The moment Joe decides to completely dismiss his secret service detail and carry around double-barrel shotgun for protection is the day I take such a stupid and insanely arrogant comment seriously.
