Damn. That is horrible if true. It is doubtful they could have prevented deaths (I would anticipate the majority of the killing was already over) but you should assume there is still a chance.

Multiple articles stated he engaged with officers before entering the school. Then he entered and they did not pursue. And they let him sit in there for an hour at least before a BP officer went in and killed him.
They could have gone in immediately and engaged him and they didn't.

Give up your guns the police will protect you. This happened in Florida too. The officers were fired or charged or something.
