ETA: this whole ‘it takes a village’ BS is not true - it just passes responsibility off for when something happens - it’s a good excuse for single ‘parenting’

It’s absolutely is true. It was just stated when the village consisted of your entire family, that other family’s entire family, and so on and so forth.

It was never meant that it was the municipal, state, or federal governments responsibility. It meant that relying on grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, so on and so forth will help make a better individual than someone only interacting with parents.
