good afternoon Houston Posters,

Could I please get some recommendations for my son's 13th bday road trip.

I am taking him a a few buddies to K1 Speed Go Kart Track tomorrow off of Hwy290. We planned to hit a few races and go down the road to the Urban Air Trampoline Park.

However this am, I was checking the trampoline park out and the reviews don't look very promising.

Maybe it's not bad. Maybe its nasty as hell!

Anyways, could I please get some recommendations for a 13yr old boys entertainment. My boy also asked to go to a local pizza place.

Thanks guys. I'll hang up and listen.

The cart track is fun. Urban air is pretty uniform city wide. Kids will probably like it, but it sucks for adults. You'll see the dirt, the lazy employees, the lack of seating,no tv's, crappy and expensive snacks, etc...

Are you committed to the North/Northwest side of town?

A lot depends on where in Houston you are....Houston is 2 hours from Houston.

We are in the SE quadrant called the "4B" area. (Beltway to the Beach; Brazoria to the Bay) and go to the Urban Air off I-45 and haven't had any issues - it's clean and well-maintained. If your boy is a baseball fan, the Astros are at home this weekend beating the Rangers like a bad dog - so definitely take in a game at Minute Maid. The area around the park is ok except to the WNW near a homeless shelter about 3 blocks away off San Jacinto. The Houston Zoo is exceptional, as is the Museum of Natural History. NASA is awesome, but that's where the "HOU 2 hrs from HOU" comes into play - a bit of a haul from the 290 & Beltway 8 where you're headed for karting.

Top Golf is always good for that age. There is one in Spring & another on I-10 near Hwy 6

I would go to Speedy's Fast Track on Hempstead Hwy over K1 (minutes from K1). More things to do like arcades, mini golf and he might even get a splash of gas in the face when driving the carts if he's lucky.

My kids have been to Urban Air Trampoline Park at 13 and liked it...

other options would be Main Event and Dave & Busters...

and as someone already posted, Astros Game would be great idea if it works with schedule.

Oh and there's a rage room I took my daughter to. If they like to smash crap with a hammer or bat, it could be a good time.

I would have loved that crap at 13. Enjoyed it at 37.

Cidercade in EADO. It’s an arcade full of stand up console arcade games, air hockey, etc. $10 for all day play with a bar with Bishop cider and other local beers. $4 sodas with unlimited refills, TVs with sports on. Bring a sweater, they keep it about 60 degrees in there.

If Astros game is not an option, my son attended a 13 year old birthday party at Loft 18 a couple of weeks ago, just west of downtown off Washington.
