I remember in Spanish class I was a pencil fight with a buddy. He knocks the pencil out of my hand and hits the teacher right in the face.
She freaked out and was running for the door and falls against the door. She opens the door and screams for the principal. It was bad because the door opened into a gymnasium and had classrooms all around the gym. So her voice echoed and all the classes could hear her scream. Both of us got suspended from her class and I can't remember what we had to do for punishment. She was a pretty cool teacher and took us back in after an apology.

The China made pencils was the best for crack pencil. The wood was hard and dense. Bout the best thing China ever made.

I rocked my grandparents pencils left over from the 60’s-80’s: much denser wood.

In 7th grade I got into one and got stabbed in the hand. I Rocked a graphite wound in that hand for most of my life.

I was thinking back in the day we use to take the shorter pencils and put a needle backward into the eraser. Then break off the writing end and split it about half an inch and insert a piece of paper for a tail fin.
throw at each other and enjoy.

Yep. The teachers hated it.

Yeah because kids would break their own pencil and then not have one to use, and then be like, "Can I borrow a pencil?"
And on top of that they'd leave broken discarded pencils on the floor

Actually, it was matchsticks you could do this with and have a war.....pencils with needles would be damaging.

Think a ticondra or something with a similar name was a really good pencil for this.

I still have 3 clearly visible deep pencil lead tattoos in my hands from 48 or so years ago.
I have one in my thumb also I’ve probably had it since 2nd grade.
