All I really wanted was KJ and Miller and my wish was granted
This roster looks 10/11 deep to me at this point so I'll make 2 points that I'll prolly repeat too often between now and start of the season:
1) Do not underestimate the value of practicing against good competition. There is experience/court time with maturity all over the place that younger guys can't help but absorb.
2) Do not underestimate the value that playing within CMM's system/offense will have in the development of the baddass freshmen & A.M.
The system allows for much less trying to tread water in the deep end. They - and the coaches - find out what they're good at within the team concept and everybody gets to feature those skills a couple times a contest as/while they become acclimated to the rest of the game.
Not much of an adjustment for A.M. because of his talent and season of PT but the freshmen are still gonna be like a box of chocolates...

I'm not so sure he'd be a fit anyway.
Lofton is a monster offensive rebounder. He’d immediately be the best rebounder on the team,
I’d rather him than Williams if we are picking. His game would play better in the SEC.

Missing element on roster: Keith Hornsby clone that can fill it up from the outside and has the athleticism to play in the SEC.

I’m excited to see how mwani progresses this year he is a frickin hustler. When you play with that kind of effort the ball starts to bounce your way, add it’s not luck when it does.

I couldn't make the call on one or the other at this point but we do have at least one of em' anyway.
Different games but like I said, there's just not any great length there for defense with either.
Wait, bruh! I forgot - you don't do defense film!

Brether, if people made defensive highlight reels, best believe I would be burning them

and maybe more than that, because the 2006 team had zero depth).
That team also didn’t have a true point guard or a consistent shooter outside Darrel Mitchell. I hope we see Justice Williams make a nice little leap.
Were we going after the Ossuniyi (sp?) kid?

The rumor I heard was he was the surprise visitor. Who knows?

Would’ve been a good add with his length

Shareef O’Neal would be a great final piece.

Need lester earl to do a deep dive on last year’s murray state team and report on how often the lineup and rotation changed

How many outside shots did Justice Williams hit last year? I don't recall seeing him hit one. maybe i missed it??
Posted on 5/14/22 at 9:58 am to Tigger98

I don’t know why people think this. He can shoot competently, he plays defense, he rebounds competently.

It is becoming a deep roster but you really can't determine who gets playing time without seeing them play in games. That's what the pre-SEC games are for to see who is going to be in the rotation.
The two questions to me are:
1. Can the small school talent play to the same level at SEC level?
2. Are the freshmen able to step in and play right away or are they going to need a year to settle in?
I think we know they all have physical ability but which among them is mentally tough. Who can make the clutch shots? Has Mwani developed an offense, can Fountain return to the promise he showed as a freshman? Who wants to play defense and who has the best shot selection? Who makes turnovers and who doesn't?
Can't wait to find out. Geaux Tigers!
