Lot of people saying Miss has "put it together lately" which is quite frankly being pulled from thin fricking air.

Sure, they swept a dumbster fire Mizzou. That team is last at 7-17 in conference and has gotten swept by anyone with a pulse this year(Vandy,Tenn,LSU).

They also beat a reeling Southern Miss team last night who, after big recent injuries, has now lost back to back series to UAB and Old Dominion and 5 of their last 8 games. Meh.

Other than the mizzou sweep, Ole Miss has a 7-14 conference record and series losses to Tenner(0-3), BAMA(0-3), SCAR(1-2), STATE(1-2), Arky(1-2).

Also, for shits and giggles, they lost to the same southeastern team we just creamed. it was earlier in the year and they only scored only one run in the matchup(1-5).

We are also at Alex Box.

Give me the fricking Tigers in a sweep baby.

Until we get our starting pitching rotation down to where it needs to be. I want to say a sweep, but looks like a series win two out of three here. GEAUX TIGERS !!

I'm pretty confident in us taking 2/3 from ole miss this weekend, despite them being backed into a corner with their backs against the wall and playing for their postseason lives. I would be surprised if we didnt honestly. It's not just bc I think we are the better overall team, but it has alot to do with how we are hitting the ball lately. We have been smashing. I see us continuing our solid approaches at the plate and I'm hoping get the sweep, but I think we drop a game. Winning 2/3 will have us sitting pretty good in the conference.

2-1 Tigs. Whichever game Money starts is the loss.

Money hasn't been "money" at all thus far unfortunately, and hes been a huge disappointment this season to say the least. Hes a liability, not an asset. Instead of us being able to count on him to win us games, hes pretty much a guaranteed loss whenever he takes the mound at this point. Everything I heard coming out of practice in the off-season had me expecting him to make huge strides towards becoming our ace this season. It hasn't worked out that way at all. Hes a middle of the week starter for us pretty much and only starts in conference games bc of our lack of experienced pitchers to replace him. We need him to pick up his game and live up to the hype he'd been given. Now is the time for him to do it bc the postseason is quickly approaching and we need him to play to his capabilities in order to have a realistic shot at making a run. Geaux Tigers.

He was a disappointment last season as well. It's a mental thing: he was superb at the beginning of both seasons against lesser opposition. Both years he's choked against SEC competition, with too many errant pitches. Maybe hypnosis could help.

shite. They need to try any and everything to try and reach him at this point. I wonder wtf is going on in his head? Does he just have zero confidence? Idk what it is exactly, but he needs to figure it out, and quickly, for the sake of the team and its success. He's just not a positive contributor to our team right now. He needs to get his shite together ASAP.

I hoping for a sweep, would be okay with 2/3. I hope we don’t see a game 2 repeat from last week.

Seeing where Money will get the start. I’m fine with that.

Not mental. He doesn't have an out pitch. When he gets ahead, he has nothing put the hitter away with. Everything he throws is in the same window. The hitters have no fear of getting behind in the count. They know he has nothing to fool them with. At this point, he's not going to find something to fool hitters with. He needs to change eye levels, get hitters to move their feet around, things to miss barrels but not lose hitters. Unfortunately, when he's done that well, we've kicked it around. If he had something with more depth or something that moved away enough, he'd be a Friday night guy with that fastball and change.

Ole Miss has gotten hot and so has LSU. I think each team wins a game comfortably, and one game is in play in the ninth inning.

We should get to their pitching a couple of times. Hopefully when that happens we capitalize and have big innings. I'll go 2-1 LSU, but it would not surprise me if it was the other way around.

From the series notes:

quote:

the Rebels had lost 19 straight series in Baton Rouge before ending that streak in 2019 with a 2-1 series victory over the Tigers in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field … prior to 2019, the Rebels’ last series victory over LSU in Baton Rouge came in 1982.

I’m actually a bit worried about this series I don’t know why…just a bunch. Hunt had the same feelings on his show.
