Can anyone explain why Trump endorsed JD Vance for the US Senate?

I’m genuinely curious why Trump would endorse a previous Dim voter, a man who during the 2016 presidential election berated and smeared Trump and Trump’s supporters…..it’s weird. I know Cruz and Mike Lee are endorsing Josh Mandel, a veteran who was MAGA from the beginning. I guess Peter Thiel is bank rolling JD’s run for the US senate and they are reported to be good friends and one time business associates.
I just have a gut feeling that Vance is a likely candidate to revert to his Dim ways in the form of the dreaded Rino we all have come to despise and loathe.

Because Trump is fricking horrible at judging character and selecting people for appointments and endorsements. It's his greatest downfall and crippled his administration from before day 1.
Maybe Vance will be great, but it's just as likely he's fake as frick.

This is definitely not on the level to slip the never Trumpers an olive branch by throwing them a Trump criticism bone. The most basic explanation as to why an individual elected to endorse a particular candidate is because the endorser is fully aware that there will ultimately be two candidates, candidate A (Republican) and Candidate B (Democrat) and sure maybe some other ratchet looking fella of the No Name Party who somehow made the ballot.
In this instance Trump determined who amongst any declared Republicans would ultimately set up best to defeat Candidate B. And that’s the one he concluded. Will someone come in here and say Trump’s a Big Orange Turd for making the wrong selection and failing to seek out the offended poster for his divine expertise in the area, sure. But I’ve got a hunch Trump’s conclusions on these matters are overall a bit more informed than mine or any others amongst us.

I really thought the JD Vance was going to lose badly for his non interventionist approach in the primaries. The other guys were very gung ho about being pro Ukraine along with their vet backgrounds.

Because the same bankrollers who corrupted Trump from the get go are still pulling the strings behind the scenes. JD Vance is as anti-maga as it gets. He’s a Yale law grad that worked as an investment banker, contributed to the NYT and CNN, and is married to a dot Indian. JD and Joe Kent are cut from the same cloth (likely CIA) and it’s really upsetting to see trump continuing to endorse guys like this. We have to eliminate the Ivy League/intelligence agency pipeline of cucks that have infiltrated the MAGA movement.
And I know this will upset a bunch here but it’s why I’m extremely skeptical of Desantis as well(even though I will end up voting for him if he is the nominee)

Read Hillbilly Elegy and don't just watch the movie with Glenn Close. You will understand where Vance is coming from irrespective of Trump. Vance made a name for himself despite having all the odds stacked against him. I don't know that most of us understand just how far down the ladder he was and what it took for him to not only make it to Ohio State and Yale Law.
Trump talks to the struggles of the lower and working class. Vance and his family lived it. He saw Trump in 2016 as just another rich guy trying to exploit the white working class for political gain. Hell, Michael Berry was probably one of the biggest anti Trumpers in 2016. Then became one of his biggest cheerleaders.

Trump is supposed to speak at a rally in Delaware Ohio tomorrow night at 7:pm. I’m wondering if he’ll endorse JD at the rally and how the audience react to the endorsement.

Is it just the Ivies we need to be skeptical of, or all top colleges? Do we need to keep an eye on Stanford, Vandy, Duke, etc.

It’s not necessarily the curriculum or the fact that they are elite academic institutions. It’s the fact that Harvard and Yale specifically are where the intelligence community and globalist institutions sink their claws into young impressionable geniuses. Sure that happens at other elite universities but Harvard and Yale are the two with the most clout and where the worst of the worst have come from for centuries
