I agree that he hasn't had a full recruiting year to bring in, and work with, his own recruits.

But do we know if he can recruit? I admittedly don't know a lot about his reputation as a recruiter, and LSU isn't exactly working from a position of strength in that regard.

We no longer can rely on reputation to woo players. So many of the teams have more recent success, better facilities and better atmospheres.

Can Johnson recruit and develop players as well as the best programs in the SEC? If not, we're in for a world of hurt.

I don't think it's as important that he can recruit as it is that he can identify and continue to develop talent. What's the point of recruiting the biggest names and highest ranked kids if they either sign and never make it to campus or they just aren't as good as their ranking(therefore, the draft class ranking). What's important is that he can identify the talent that will make it to campus and can have an impact on the program and help win games.
