Has anyone been to Oaklawn Horse Track in Arkansas. I need information on the appropriate attire for a non derby event. Do you have to dress up or will khakis do? What about shorts?

TIA

Wear your ‘church jeans’

If you wear shorts, make sure they are cargo shorts.

7 never looses, bet big!! In all seriousness, I’m sure your day-to-day redneck attire will suffice.

No dress code, just don’t do nekkid!!

I’ve been to Oaklawn, it’s very casual. I’ve always worn shorts and polo shirts.

You've gotta wear a top hat.

Never been to Oaklawn, but if it’s like most horse tracks, it really depends on what level you’re going to be sitting in. Each level increases in formality. My assumption would be that khakis are absolutely fine but I’m a shitty dresser.

Was there this past weekend for the Arkansas Derby. On normal days anything goes. Jeans, khakis, shorts...doesnt matter. No Metallica shirts though.

You can wear anything, but if you’re goi g for the stakes it’s fun to be fancy. Apple blossom is one of my favorite races every year.

Sorry for the less than serious responses. Crocs with socks is really the only requirement.

I've always had fun there. They pour strong drinks and there is just the right amount of time between races you won't get bored

I'm a big fan of Hot Springs

I remember it overall being a fairly southern, trashy crowd. You’ll be fine whatever you wear.

They do have a sports book now.

You could literally wear anything (informal or formal) and nobody would think anything of it. There’s a crowd from every walk of life there on a normal Saturday.
