1. Trey 1B
2. Crews CF
3. Berry DH
4. Cade SS
5. Dugas LF
6. Gio RF
7. McManus C
8. Merrifeild 3B
9. Safford 2B

Would be fine with Bianco at 2B and then Jobert as pinch hitter. Hayden maybe at catcher.

I'll be surprised if there aren't some adjustments to the lineup today

Safford isn’t and shouldn’t start

I’m glad someone else is on Merrifield. I’ve been screaming that he needs to be consistently starting at 3rd. My lineup:

Morgan 1B
Crews CF
Doughty SS
Berry DH
Jobert RF
Dugas LF
Thompson 2B
Merrifield 3B
McManus C

Merrifield is an embarrassment at the plate and suspect in the field. Need to ride with Thompson at 2B given his offensive potential.

Doughty can't cover the entire left side of the infield so you need to continue with Berry to allow for a decent bat at DH.

Ideally it would be a platoon of McManus and Jobert based on pitching matchup with Milazzo back hopefully soon.

Cranford at 2nd would be better than him at SS. But you are getting a below average bat.

At this point I don’t care. I can’t watch many more dropped balls and bad throws

Cranford is hands down better than Doughty at SS

I agree. The bat can get better. I haven’t seen anything that makes me believe that the defense is going to change.

At this point give someone else a chance.

1. Morgan 1st
2. Crews RF
3. Berry DH
4. Doughty 3rd
5. Dugas LF
6. Gio CF
7. Thompson SS
8. McManus C
9. Bianco/Merrifield 2nd

Doughty has played a ton of 3rd base in his college career. I think he fits better here than 2nd base.

Thompson is a SS, I’m sure he’s played his entire baseball career here. He needs to work through the issues and take thousands of reps.

I don’t know for sure, but I feel like Gio covers more ground in center and has a lesser arm than Crews. I think I’d rather Gio in CF for range and Crews in right for his arm strength.

Bianco and Merrifield bring a better glove to the 2nd base position.

JJ needs to get a lineup in place and let the team get comfortable. Too much moving around going on for being in the second weekend of conference play.
