A bag of Doritos will have less chips now.

quote:

Food company Frito-Lay has cut down the number of chips in each bag of Doritos as record inflation has raised production expenses.

A bag of Doritos has five fewer chips than it used to, the company told Quartz. "Inflation is hitting everyone. … We took just a little bit out of the bag so we can give you the same price and you can keep enjoying your chips," a Frito-Lay representative said.

They were over 4 bucks a bag on the shelf at Walmart yesterday. I left them on the shelf.

They been doing that. Ever so subtly making the offering lighter and lighter. Cane’s too, sometimes I think those things might actually be a chicken’s fingers.

I thought they only had about 4 chips in a bag anyway.
Guess they'll just sell compressed air in a bag

If you smelled the Frito-Lay plant in Topeka you might not ever even look at a bag of their stuff again. It's quite the experience when the wind is blowing in the right direction.

What kind of things would keep me from enjoying my chips?

Zapps has already been doing this. Their chips are like the size of quarters now.

Those chips will never be put back. All part of the plan to take things away slowly.

Pretty much all mass produced snacks like doritos are. The ingredient list is crazy but oh well I'll still knock out a whole bag in one sitting if it is in front of me

If you want more product you will have to pay for it. They avoid the sticker shock and still get a sale. Marketing 101 people

Never was much of a Doritos fan, but they better not mess with my Fritos.

Funny how the party size is what used to be the Family size and family size is what used to be a regular bag size. Half of it is air now when you open it up anyway. Do they really think consumers don't notice these changes? Never really buy chips anyway other than a can of salt and vinegar lays occassionally.
