Wade n Co have this crazy idea that they have to press the entire game.

We were up 20 and obviously the players are playing with less intensity but here we are... Still pressing, it doesn't work If every player is busting their arse on it.

Plus, why exert the energy up by 20. Save them legs.

It was not pressing to start the 2nd half that allowed the run. At the under 16:00 TO, we went back to pressing and got two straight turnovers and quite frankly never looked back.

Of course, I'm sure it was an accident that we did something to change our energy level since I've been told by all the basketball experts on this board that Wade is an awful in-game coach and NEVER makes adjustments.

I assumed our press wasn't as much about getting the quick turn over as it was about forcing the other team to use a third of their shot clock before they can set up and run an offense. It shortens the offensive set which helps when you run a defense that switches on every player and has a higher potential to get exposed by double screens.

This is absolutely false. In fact he said during his show that they will play some match-up zone soon to keep out of foul trouble and make the press more effective.

This team would be unbeatable if they could run “40 minutes of hell”. And they sorta did early on. It’s a main reason they were so successful earlier in the season when they were fresh. But when injuries mounted and they had to run an offense, it was a struggle. The press creates havoc and that’s where opportunities lie for a fast team like LSU. It might cost you at times, but you’re betting it helps more than hurts and creates a more athletic, fast paced game that benefits a team like the Tigers.
